We are seeking a mechanical engineer who will oversee manufacturing equipment, their operation and ensure that they perform at their optimal inputs for achieving desired outputs.
About the department
In Insulin Manufacturing 1 (IM1), the world’s largest insulin manufacturing facility, we produce the active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for many of Novo Nordisk’s diabetes care products at full-scale, for example, the recent and successful Rybelsys® that improves patient care. As part of the core API manufacturing process, the Purification department is a key player because it purifies the API product. You will be part of Purification Support part 1+2, where you will join 22 skilled colleagues with varying expertise to ensure that we deliver API timely. The team is dynamic, and you will participate in problem solving as well as recommending improvements to ensure that we utilize capacity and resources both efficiently and effectively.
The position
We are looking for someone who is motivated by and enjoys analyzing data, maintaining efficient equipment operation, recommending ideas for improvement and supporting projects. Specifically, you will:
- Analyze and interpret data for ensuring efficient equipment operation
- Standardize and maintain a system for effectively monitoring equipment performance and lifetime
- Assist in problem solving and troubleshooting for various challenges that we face in both short and long-term
- Create and build a network of expertise for solving integrated problems related to equipment performance – collaboration with technicians, blacksmiths etc.
This job gives you a great opportunity to play a part in shaping the future of bioprocessing across the organization, in close collaboration with other manufacturing teams in Novo Nordisk.
Qualifications
The candidate should have the following or developing qualifications:
- A BSc/MSc in mechanical or chemical engineering
- Domain knowledge on pilot scale equipment operation and troubleshooting – university, special course, thesis or previous experience
- Understanding of how to convey complex information to varying audiences and thereby, explain the purpose to get everyone onboard
- A nice-to-have but not a requirement, knowledge on pharmaceutical equipment, for example, chromatography, filtration etc.
The standard position is limited to 2 years. However, based on candidate and job requirements, this will be discussed individually in the interviews.
