We are looking to employ a Manager for the Clinical Pharmacology Insulin and Growth Hormone department to lead a team of highly dedicated experts working with one of the most exciting R&D pipelines you can find in the pharmaceutical industry.

Clinical Pharmacology Insulin and Growth Hormone is part of Global Development.

In Global Development, we are responsible for managing clinical drug development worldwide from early development phases to product introduction. We ensure medical and scientific documentation for clinical submissions and authorities while ensuring that the process lives up to uniform global standards, regulations and business ethics. We work in global project teams with a focus on delivering viable products that make a difference to patients and ultimately benefit society.

About the department

Clinical Pharmacology Insulin and Growth Hormone is one of five departments in the Clinical Pharmacology and Translational Medicine are, complementing two other Classical Clinical Pharmacology departments, Quantitative Clinical Pharmacology and Translational Medicine in supporting the entire Novo Nordisk development portfolio from first in man trials to registration. We work as an integrated part of the global development project teams and we are operationally and scientifically responsible for the planning and execution of clinical pharmacology trials. We provide clinical pharmacology expertise to all clinical development phases including submission and post-submission phases.

The position

As Manager of Clinical Pharmacology Insulin and Growth Hormone you are responsible for the continued and proactive development of staff and department and of new methodologies to sustain and advance Clinical Pharmacology as a Centre of Excellence. You are specifically responsible for clinical pharmacology deliveries in accordance with project milestones and priorities.

You will report to the Corporate Vice President of Clinical Pharmacology and Translational Medicine and take active part in the management team of this area, contributing to the development and operations of Clinical Pharmacology and Translational Medicine as being an attractive and challenging place to work.

Qualifications

You hold a relevant university degree, e.g. MSc, MD or other preferably complemented by a PhD and have demonstrated excellent leadership skills and ability to deliver results. You have a minimum of 10 years’ experience from working in the pharmaceutical industry. You are an expert in clinical pharmacology methodologies including pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, safety assessments and the translation from non-clinical to clinical drug development. You have in-depth understanding of scientific topics relating to protein drug development and a solid understanding of the pharmaceutical business and regulatory environment.

You have proven excellent people management skills, you set direction, take responsibility and lead and motivate your staff to work for joint objectives. As a person you are well organised, a clear and influential communicator and you have strong problem-solving capabilities. You keep your spirits high even when under pressure and can collaborate at any organisational level. You are fluent in written and spoken English.
