Are you the outstanding organic chemist we are looking for? Then come and join! We are looking for a very creative and highly experienced organic chemist with a strong commitment to drive and develop our organic chemistry platform, inside as well as outside the laboratory. You will join our highly skilled organic chemistry team and together your competencies are crucial to our drug research projects, in our quest for identifying innovative treatments for people suffering from skin diseases.
You will have a great opportunity to grow your drug discovery skills by driving and developing our organic chemistry platform. The position will have a strong organisational impact through close collaboration with key stakeholders across disciplines within and outside Research.
Challenging position
As our creative and experienced organic chemist, you will:
Challenge and motivate organic chemistry strategies across drug discovery projects, with a to-the-point and at the same time team oriented mindset. Drive and develop our organic chemistry platform and competencies to ensure we always are at the right, high level. Lead CRO and in-house synthetic chemistry activities according to project goals and milestones and encourage focus, motivation and optimal interaction within the team.
The position will be based in one of our MedChem departments within our Drug Design area, which consist of 4 departments all together: 2 MedChem departments, DMPK and API Process Research.
In our Medicinal Chemistry teams we offer unique challenges for professional and scientific development in state-of-the-art drug discovery facilities, an informal working environment and the chance to integrate into a dynamic team of experienced and enthusiastic drug hunters.
Your profile
The ideal candidate has an impressive track recorded in developing organic chemistry strategies and leading synthesis campaigns in a pharmaceutical setting.
A strong track record within organic synthesis in a drug discovery setting incl. interdisciplinary collaborations medicinal chemists and API upscale experts. A minimum of 15 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry is a favoured background.
Furthermore, you must possess:
experience in tackling complex, multi-step organic chemistry campaigns. the ability to lead successful organic chemistry teams by outlining and communicating the strategy embracing different views. good interdisciplinary team working skills and the ability to inspire and motivate people, with a goal oriented and flexible mind-set. the desire and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across disciplines in drug discovery and with external partners. professional fluency in written and spoken English.
