About the therapeutic area

Global Biopharm Rare Disease Research is a newly established and expanding therapeutic area, anchored in Global Drug Discovery in R&D at Novo Nordisk. The therapeutic area consists of three departments (Rare Blood Disease; Rare Endocrine Disease; Genome Editing & Gene Therapy) and is a collaborative area of skilled scientists and technicians investigating the function of novel drug candidates to improve the treatment of individuals living with rare blood diseases or rare endocrine diseases. We are deeply involved in the discovery of innovative drug candidates through in vitro and in vivo research using innovative technology platforms internally and externally.

The position

As a laboratory technician in the department of Genome Editing and Gene Therapy, your key responsibilities will be in close collaboration with scientists to optimise molecular biology methods to develop and study genome editing and gene therapy approaches to cure rare blood and rare endocrine diseases. Methods to study both on-target and off-target events as well as viral laboratory work will be needed.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has an education as a Laboratory Technician (Laborant), Biomedical Laboratory Scientist (Bioanalytiker) or a related discipline with proven experience within state-of-the-art molecular biology methods as well as cellular and viral techniques. Cloning, PCR, cell cultivation and FACS analysis are among the essential techniques.

Having a flexible mindset and a good team player mentality will be required.

Since we are working in an international environment, you need to be confident in verbal and written English.
