Global Supply Chain is part of the CSO organisation with dotted line report into the COO function. The Senior Vice President of Global Supply Chain (GSC) is sitting in both management teams. GSC is a global organisation with more than 260 employees based in different locations all around the world (we have some central functions and a regional set up adjusted to the Vestas Sales Business Units (SBU’s) set-up). We manage 100,000’s of shipments across our worldwide factories in our global supply chain every year.

This includes having best in class global operations through value chain cost out, reliably deliver anywhere in the world by adapting to market changes in an agile approach through competitive footprint and having one set of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) numbers and a continuously optimised portfolio plan.

Our mission is to become a truly integrated global supply chain function enabling us to reach the lowest possible Levelised Cost of Energy (LCoE) by ensuring a proactive and simplified approach. It is our key objectives are to have accurate short- and long-term objectives, a competitive global footprint, winning the auctions with the lowest possible total landed costs (TLC) and ensuring continuous value chain optimisation and cost out.

You will be responsible for ensuring that required capacity is in place to deliver the required Ex Works (EXW) volume by working closely with relevant stakeholders across the supply chain. In addition, to identify potential risks and develop strong mitigation plans where issues occur as well as be able to report operational risks and potential budget / business impact. Furthermore, you are expected to continuously develop and strengthen our approach to capacity assurance and risk management.

The position reports to the Sr. Director Supply Chain Planning Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that operationally required capacity across the supply chain is in place to deliver expected EXW volume for both internal as well as external suppliers.
  • Act as SCP point of contact towards Global Procurement and ensure this is fully imbedded within the segments and towards key stakeholders
  • Identify and bring forward any potential delivery risks across the Supply Chain within a well-defined and structured approach based on clear and simplified overviews
  • Be able to review and assess end-to-end potential risks and impact based on supply chain readiness in terms of material, suppliers etc. by working closely with the category teams
  • Manage and report out within Global Supply Chain any supply chain and capacity risks including full assessment as well as potential mitigation plans and estimated P&L impact
  • Ongoing process improvements taking our approach to the next level including increasing the transparency enabling timely response to and reducing the risks
  • Own and drive clear and aligned plans in terms of Supply Chain readiness when ramping new products, lines, factories as well as entering new markets

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. / M.Sc. within Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics or Business Administration
  • 8-10 years of experience from a global company
  • Solid background in supply chain
  • Good understanding of and interest in finance/economic aspects related to a global supply chain
  • Good experience of complex supply chain flows and their impact on planning

Competencies

  • Strong stakeholder management and project management skill are a must. Ability to manage multiple remote stakeholders
  • Demonstrate personal commitment and focus on correct data as well as the ability to focus on details without losing the overall perspective.
  • Ability to understand and analyse complex supply chain related issues including the financial impacts
  • Goal-oriented with a strong drive
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for taking on responsibility and achieving results independently and as part of a team.
  • Global mind-set and understanding of different cultures.
  • Excellent communication skills being able to communicate at all levels in the organisation.
