Teamwork in R&D, Production, and Assembly

We are looking for a social mechanical engineer to join our R&D team responsible for maintaining Radiometer’s established Blood Gas Analyzer, ABL800 Flex. We have many installed devices around the world and continue to deliver new devices to our many satisfied customers. You become the team’s go-to person and expert within the mechanical engineering area and have other mechanically experienced colleagues within other teams in R&D to bounce ideas off.

The manager Rasmus Svensson also has a technical background and will together with mechanical colleagues be sparring partners in all the different processes. Most importantly, you get to collaborate with skilled engineers and other colleagues from the production, assembly, hardware- and software developers, lab technicians that help you set up your test designs and external suppliers.

In short, teamwork is key in this job and our networking culture will help you grow your knowledge and technical expertise related to our unique products and technologies.

Put your Mechanical R&D skills to good use

With our large installed base of devices, we have a lot of data and feedback regarding the products' performance. This enables you to work on continuously improving the different mechanical parts of the device. We expect that the tasks for this role would be:

  • Coordinate tests and collect relevant data by developing test methods and defining test setup
  • Update technical documentation by using CAD-CREO, defining Technical Specifications and Engineering Change Orders
  • Material Selection
  • Design for Assembly and Design for Manufacturing
  • Tolerance stack-up calculations

You will enjoy this role if you like to shift focus during the day. For instance, you might spend a couple of hours at your desk crafting a test that can mitigate potential risks in product improvements. Later, you might be involved in a discussion regarding the choice of just the right sheet metal component and find the right vendor for the job. Before ending your day, you might catch up with your lab tech colleague over a cup of coffee to hear how the latest lab test setup that you designed is running.

Qualifications

We expect you to have an education related to Mechanical Engineering and experienced in working in the cross section between R&D and production. Furthermore, the following increases your chances of success in the job:

  • General understanding of mechanics, construction and tolerance calculations
  • Project coordination – you find it natural to ensure commitment to your allocated projects from relevant stakeholders and coordinate your project activities according to committed deadlines
  • Experience with CAD (preferably CREO) and an eye for details
  • A people person, who loves to collaborate multi-functionally
  • Flexible to changes and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to work with documentation

What can we offer

An outstanding opportunity to work in the field of medical technologies, where sharing of knowledge and professional respect combine to make it both fun and meaningful to go to work. Both in Denmark and abroad you will meet hardworking colleagues who take pride in making a difference in a company whose products can truly impact other people's lives. We offer you 'freedom with responsibility', opportunities for training and career development, and a wide range of staff benefits.
