Are you passioned about ensuring the safety of our LEGO® products and do you have good insights in mechanical design and construction?
As a Product Safety Engineer, you will join our small but close team, who has huge impact around the entire business.
Core Responsibilities
• Provide consulting on product safety matters to designers in the development department
• Participate in projects relating to the development of new sustainable materials
• Perform testing and approval of parts and products
• Carry out risk assessments and internal type approvals of new LEGO elements
• Participate in the updating of the PS handbook to make sure that it at all times covers the requirements in the LEGO policies as well as external regulations
• Enter and maintain Product Safety data in internal IT-systems such as SharePoint, SAP, and Office 365
• In this position you will build a strong knowledge on testing and risk assessment and a position with development possibilities and it is expected that you over time develop in to being a specialist in the field
• Both the area and the position has high focus in LEGO due to our relentless work with safety

Product Safety & Compliance ensures that LEGO products are safe by design and compliant with internal and external requirements.
The role belongs to the Mechanical Product Safety team which supports by defining, maintaining, and implementing relevant mechanical product safety requirements.
The department supports and approves all novelty products and work on confidential development projects. We need to ensure that new products are compliant to all regulations and LEGO safety requirements.
Do you have what it takes?
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent working experience. You have good insights in mechanical design and construction and it would be beneficial if you have:
• Experience from work within the children’s product sector, related to product safety and/or compliance aspects
• Previous experience from laboratory testing
• Experience from work with IT-systems such as SAP, Office 365, SharePoint etc
As a person you are result oriented and with shown ability to work individually as well as in a team. Furthermore, we are looking for profile who has:
• Ability to work systematically with documentation
• A careful and detailed approach to work tasks
• Skills in training internal and external stakeholders
• Intermediate to advanced English skills – both oral and written and maybe additional languages skills
