Job Description

Danfoss is looking for a Development Engineer to join our R&D team in High Pressure Pumps (HPP) to work with creation, customization and validation of new energy, efficiency solutions for our customers. In HPP you will be involved in a wide variety of tasks. This includes conceptual work, draft of possible design solutions, detailed design, theoretical calculations as well as preparation for and execution of internal and external testing of prototypes. Hence, you will experience the full value chain of Technology and New Product Development

You will work in a knowledge intensive and experienced team which makes this a guaranteed opportunity for further development both personally and professionally.

Amongst our key products are pumps and energy recovery devices used in equipment for fresh water production through reverse osmosis, dust and fire suppression, humidification, waste water filtration and gas turbines. We are more than 100 visionary and innovative colleagues in HPP who develop, manufacture and deliver component and system solutions based on high pressure hydraulic pumps and valves.

Background and skills
There is more than one way to qualify for this position, but we are very keen on tacking in a newly graduate who is driven and motivated to gain new knowledge. Regardless your seniority, you must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar and knowledge of mechanical design, preferably in fluid mechanic products (hydraulic design). You are familiar with a variety of IT and software tools (CAD, FEM, CFD, SAP).

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and execute advanced tests of new concepts and products
  • Analyze test-result data to harvest maximum value from every test we do
  • Work with sensor strategy and condition monitoring data to develop pattern detection schemes for wear and other failure modes
  • Design new solutions to improve performance of our products as well as to work with suppliers to ensure Design for Manufacturing
  • Work with tolerance chain analysis at the micron-level to ensure that the design intention is realized in the final product.

You will have many contacts both across the organization and to suppliers/customers; consequently, you need to be open minded with a positive attitude and a cross functional mindset.
