For an introduction to our area - CMC API Pilots - please visit our career page The position We are scaling up our API production capacity by expansions, upgrades, and increasing the automation level of our processes to be ready for Novo Nordisk’s current and future products to be used in clinical trials. As Lead Automation Engineer, you have an unparalleled opportunity to join us building several new API manufacturing facilities in site Bagsværd, Denmark. You will play a central role in leading and securing the implementation, operation, and optimization of automation systems in the various project phases. We are implementing 800xA, the latest PLC technology and being front runners for a new MES system in development facilities at Novo Nordisk. Key responsibilities summed up: Maintain the holistic overview of the automation strategy. Present strategies for management to execute and implement the best possible solutions. Work closely with our production area, our external partners, and with the different teams across our entire organization. Help ensure that the selected system that you are focused at, is integrated with other systems, instruments, process and fully in compliance to GMP requirements. Review documentation and be part of testing the solutions while leveraging the knowledge needed to later have higher responsibilities over these systems. To succeed in this role, it is important to be close to stakeholders, balance time, effort, and risk to assure timelines for completion of the projects are met. Qualifications Regardless of your background, it is a prerequisite that you have a strong desire to achieve process knowledge and provide the best solutions in close cooperation with our production. As Lead Automation Engineer you preferably have an academic degree and need a proven track record in the following experiences/skills/abilities in the prioritized order: Experience in writing Functional Specifications based on given process descriptions and P&ID’s At least 10 years experiences with DCS implementation (preferably 800xA) At least 5 years experiences with 800xA batch processing in pharma (S88) Excellent coding skills in 800xA Knowledge of GMP guidelines We need you to work full-time on-site in Bagsværd, Denmark, however some flexibility can be discussed and planned. About the department As part of Novo Nordisk PSQIT organisation, Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Development & Scaling makes a real difference for patients with chronic diseases across the world. We develop, manufacture and distribute drug candidates for clinical trials and have a strong culture with a “can do” mind-set. The project department is organised within CMC API Pilots, that will own and operate the new facilities. We are a department with approx. 85 employees, who are responsible for completing the major investment project to expand our API production capacity for new pharmaceutical candidates for clinical trials in Novo Nordisk. CMC API Pilot is part of CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing & Control) Development & Scaling manufactures and controls new drug substance candidates for the development portfolio at Novo Nordisk.
