The Position As part of the Business Development Tax department, you will be focusing on all tax aspects of M&A activities. The team is deeply involved in the tax aspects within the Business Development activities in Novo Nordisk on matters such as acquisition of companies, license and collaboration agreements etc. Your responsibility is to drive a high-quality process in relation to Business Development cases, from initial tax assessment, due diligence, and all the way through deal-making, signing and integration. Your main tasks will be to:
  • Support Business Development activities incl. acquisitions on tax related matters

  • Assess the need for internal restructurings in connection with acquisitions

  • Drive integration efforts with a special focus on tax in collaboration with the greater finance organisation

  • Ensuring that tax impacts of acquisitions and internal restructurings are thoroughly documented and correctly reflected in our financial reporting

  • Reporting to management and other key stakeholders on the tax impacts of the Business Development activities

To succeed in this position, you must thrive in a high pace environment while being able to maintain the overview. Other success criteria are:
  • Relevant master’s degree within finance, tax or legal with excellent results

  • At least 5-7 years of professional experience from a similar position, e.g. from a Big 4 accounting firm, a legal firm or an in-house tax or business development function with job focus on corporate tax and business development.

  • Solid tax, accounting, and analytical skills

  • A talent for communication and project management

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Danish will be considered advantageous given the required insights into Danish tax matters

  • On a personal level, you work in a structured manner, respecting deadlines and being able to deliver complex messages in a simple manner. Furthermore, you are a team player and possess good interpersonal skills and high level of engagement and contribution. About the department In Novo Nordisk’s Business Development Tax department, we are 5 dedicated employees working in a specialized team to assist on tax matters throughout Novo Nordisk’s acquisitions. You will report to the team’s Manager, Jon Mitre Sinius-Clausen. Further, you will be part of the Global Tax organisation encompassing around 70 employees worldwide.
