We are seeking an engineering-minded professional to help grow and support our initiatives within prototyping, explorative testing and laboratory facility maintenance for product development. In this newly established and challenging position, you will be an active contributor in the global innovation team driving and providing laboratory services primarily related to product development.

The intention is for the laboratory function to expand and you should be comfortable acting as a team manager, and planning when expansions are needed. You will have a job with high and broad impact, and your primary stakeholders will be Innovation, Procurement and Facility.
The position is based at the Ambu headquarter in Ballerup, and you will report to the Director of Front-end and Technology Dev., PMD & Anesthesia.
Laboratory Manager with a Laboratory/medical device background
Preferably you have experience running and maintaining laboratory facilities related to product development incl. 3D prototyping, explorative device testing, prototype builds, test equipment etc. It is natural for you to work with external partners, subcontractors and suppliers. We expect you have an educational background as a Technician, Engineer or similar.
Ideally you have experience as a team leader and have been part of hiring technical personnel before. You will be participating in cross-organisational activities, therefore good collaboration and coordination skills is a must.

Responsibilities
As Laboratory Manager, you will play a vital role in developing our new products
Your primary responsibilities will be:
- Owner of Lab facilities in Global Innovation (e.g. Mechanical, Prototyping incl 3D printing, Explorative Testing Laboratory, Toolshop)
- Deliver assistance to Development projects (builds, jigs/fixtures, prototyping, operating toolshop machines etc.)
- Responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, including calibration and equipment validation, purchasing of tools and materials
- Responsible for maintaining a high-level order and tidiness in the laboratories by using e.g. 5S, MDS, MSDS and storage of chemicals, materials, glue etc.
- Responsible for organizing training in how to use the laboratory facilities, hereunder (but not limited to) the measuring machine (Smart scope) operation, 3D printers, chemical safety etc
- Team manager for future lab personnel
