Semco Maritime is looking for an Innovation Lead to help deliver cost-saving solutions for the market. You will be part of a small, dedicated team focusing on innovation projects in collaboration with skilled colleagues from the organisation and external partners. Your role will be to support ideas from inception to implementation. You will be involved in identifying unmet needs in the market, experimenting with technologies and developing new solutions to support implementation and thereby enable the growth of the company.
Scale our innovation strategy
Apart from the development of new concepts, you will also help implement a wider innovation strategy in Semco Maritime. You will assist the organisation in building capacity to implement new solutions, work with new technologies and participate in the development of products and services. You must deliver a customer-first approach governed by the principles of design thinking, lean start-up and agile methodologies and ensure that stakeholders are on board to support and sponsor initiatives through the transformative process. More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Manage innovation projects in the innovation room
- Implement an agile framework and help spread it in the organisation
- Promote an innovative mindset in the company
- Manage the stakeholders necessary for making the project a success
- Apply for funding at national and European funds
- Develop the technical and business network of the Innovation team
- Constantly challenge the status quo and aim to make a difference in the long term
Your profile
To succeed in this role, you need to have a good understanding of the commercial aspects of developing a concept, combined with an innovative mindset that enables you to translate an idea into a successfully implemented solution. Besides, we expect you to have the following:
- A bachelor or master’s degree in a business-related or technical field. A qualification in engineering (computer science, software and/or a business-related discipline) is preferred, but not essential if supplemented by experience in scouting, developing and testing digital solutions
- At least 3 years of experience in working with new product/service development and innovation, preferably in a medium- or large-sized company
- Experience with lean start-up, design thinking and agile methodologies
- Curious about new technologies and how they impact business and society
- Able to strike a good balance between your work as a self-starter and team player
- Insight in digital concepts such as programming, IoT, cyber security, system integration/adoption issues with solid domain and market experience is essential
- Able to listen diligently and translate customer needs into business solutions, demonstrating added value using technology and/or services
- Able to identify and build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders at all organisational levels
- Provide leadership in the assessment and adoption of the latest technologies and processes, challenging current methods
- The role will be a blend of strategy and execution while taking a design thinking approach to solve complex problems. You should also take a highly strategic approach towards products, having experience in agile approaches
- You embrace learning new techniques and technology. You can work independently and organised to resolve issues and understand end-to-end processes to help implement change
- Excellent organisational, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills and able to communicate in English, preferably Danish.
