During 2020, we will build a diverse team of thinkers, makers and doers in our new Global Digital Hub. And we want you to bring your expertise, knowledge, ideas, entrepreneurial spirit and experience to make a significant impact, and help build and shape this with us from an early stage.
As Experience Design Director, you will bring world class design principles and practices to Pandora’s signature experiences. In collaboration with other leaders within Pandora and partners, the Experience Design Lead will re-design our signature experiences (holistically, omni-channel, and not limited to digital) and partner with sponsors to keep the experiences healthy and evolving over time.
You will ensure designs are both highly innovative and operationally feasible as well as scale the Design function appropriately as demands warrant.
As a part of this, your responsibilities will be to:
- Build the team over time, provide people leadership as the team develops and lead colleagues to explore new combinations of design tools
- Establish a shared Experience Design vision and approach with business, Operations, IT, Marketing, external partners and others across the organisation
- Define Experience Design best practices, develop a common understanding and language about Experience Design and educate the organization about it
- Initiate, facilitate and lead iterative design processes and apply participative design practices with both the stakeholders and the customer engaged
- Partner across the organisation to ensure brand alignment and consistency throughout the signature experiences, from Marketing to Operations, to Digital, the classroom, and beyond
Your new team:
The Global Digital Hub will be responsible for designing, delivering and operating digital products and experiences for Pandora’s global business, ensuring digital is at the heart of our business. As Director, you will be a part of Digital Development which is the function responsible for delivering on our strategic ambition to be industry leaders in digital; owning and delivering our digital product and technology vision, strategy and roadmap.
In your daily work, you will report directly to the VP of Digital Development and you will have the managerial responsibility for your own team of passionate and driven colleagues.
What is needed to succeed:
The ideal candidate has a history of taking ideas or concepts and leading cross-functional teams to translate it into actionable experience designs. Your entrepreneurial mindset and your ability to work both strategic and tactical, makes it easy for you to navigate in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Furthermore, we imagine that you have and can demonstrate:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in visual design, interaction design, UX/UI design or similar
- Minimum 6 years of leading people and teams
- Master’s degree preferred in design-related discipline (e.g. Interaction, Information or Interface design, Human-Computer Interaction, Design Planning, Graphic Design, Communications or similar)
- Experience and proven results leading teams and people as well as omni-channel, end-to-end experience design
- Proficiency with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Visio and Microsoft Office is preferred
