Let’s talk about the role The Technology Engineering Manager is strategically positioned at the intersection of leadership and hands-on technical expertise reporting into Director of Architecture & Systems Engineering department in DDIT-RED. To begin with this individual will lead and manage a small team (4-6) of Full stack Engineers, ensuring optimal team performance and product development. You will also offer hands-on technical support to Data Scientists and Researchers, pioneering the industrialization of ML models, conducting POCs, and setting up Sandboxes to enable researchers. Some of the Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate effective communication, ensuring that team members are aligned with project goals and objectives as well as monitor and review team performance, providing feedback and identifying areas of improvement

  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and Researchers, aiding in the industrialization of their Machine Learning (ML) models as well as conduct and oversee proof-of-concept (POC) projects together with Researchers

  • Help design and establish Sandboxes for experimental and developmental purposes

  • Engage in hands-on backend development primarily around .NET core and frontend technologies such as React, Vue, or Blazor

  • Ensure the adoption and adherence to best software engineering practices, particularly around TDD (Test Driven Development) and BDD (Behavior Driven Development)

  • Ensure collaboration with Architecture team to drive adoption of domain architecture principles & guidelines in practice

  • What we scout for The ideal candidate for this position should meet most of the following requirements:
  • Bachelor`s or Master`s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant field

  • At least 8 years of experience in .NET core for backend development along with familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React.js, Vue.js, or Blazor

  • Demonstrated experience as Tech Lead or Team Lead while actively working with team of Engineers and solid understanding of and experience with cloud platforms, notably Azure & AWS and on-prem infrastructure

  • Have exposure to Developer Experience Portal, and DevSecOps & Machine Learning Operations (MLOPS) practices as well as knowledgeable in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices

  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading technical teams, fostering collaboration, and driving results

  • Proven track record of collaborating with Data Scientists and Researchers, translating their needs into tangible technical solutions

  • Adept at pioneering new solutions, conducting POCs, and establishing experimental environments like Sandboxes with go getter and service mindset

  • On a personal level you are a great communicator who can work in a distributed teams’ environment with globally located stakeholders. In addition, you have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex technical information in an understandable manner to diverse stakeholders. The team waiting for you Research and Early Development IT (R&ED IT) is a unit in Digital, Data, and IT that provides IT solutions when new treatments are discovered, and molecules are being developed. We are the IT partner of Research and Early Development. Our responsibility is to leverage new technology and digitalization and offer a sustainable IT infrastructure needed to bring forward all the work done through important research.
