Do you want to break new ground and deliver innovative digital solutions to patients worldwide? Are you an engaged and motivating leader who has experience with Software Engineering in the field of Health Software and Software as Medical Device (SaMD)? Digital Health develop digital therapeutics and solutions for people living with Diabetes and other serious chronic diseases. We are searching for a manager to join our team.
Digital Health is a new and exciting area that delivers innovative digital solutions which will supplement Novo Nordisk’s drug offerings. You will work closely with the Digital Health business unit, developing new digital products, enabling new ways of interacting with patients and new business models by being innovative.
About the department
You will head up a dedicated Software Engineering unit in Digital Health Solutions with a specific focus on iOS and Android mobile app development within Health Software & SaMD, helping the Digital Health business area realise digital aspirations. Novo Nordisk continues to invest in in-house built digital products and in Digital Health Solutions, we are partnering with the business to build innovative digital products.
We are looking for a thought leader who is eager to drive maturity within Software Engineering and have passion for leading people within this field – someone who can set the direction, provide guidance, and drive people development. You will become a part of an inspiring, and ambitious work environment, where modern software development methodologies, tools, teamwork, and a growth mindset is key.
The position
You will be working with sophisticated business challenges in Novo Nordisk’s digital area and will be exposed to stakeholders across the organisation.
By utilizing your leadership skills and knowledge about software development and digital product management you will play an instrumental role in strengthening software engineering leadership in the Digital Health, helping our Software Engineers challenge status quo and adapt best practices in collaboration with the Digital Health Solutions teams.
Moreover, you will manage tactical and operational needs from the Software Engineers – direct people management, recruitment, team health, rotation, and capacity planning across the Digital Health.Your Responsibilities will include
• Direct Manager for 10-15 iOS & Android Software Engineers, ensuring well-being and development of employees
• Collaborate closely with the business to create the best possible environment for high performing teams.
• Support and engage product teams to adapt best practices and improved ways of working.
• Daily responsible for the Digital Health Software Engineers and being the escalation point.
• Develop and driving the Digital Health people strategy incl. sourcing of talents – make/buy, partnering and/or growing talents internally, as well as recruitment, retainment, attraction, and rotation.
Qualifications
You have a master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related fields. Additionally, you have working with software development within the fields of Health Software and SaMD, and have at least 3 years of proven track record of leading teams specialised in Software Engineering.
You possess strong stakeholder management and communication skills, and advocate convincingly about the value of software design, particularly to stakeholders who are used to making decisions based on cost or efficiency as a central purpose for new initiatives.
