In Global Direct Procurement we are currently seeking a skilled Category Manager, who can lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities within the categories of Preclinical Development-, Regulatory Affairs and Safety Services.
We are on a journey towards a more mature procurement organization. The organization has been restructured, and processes have been improved with the ambition to create a best-in-class procurement organization, which deliver on improving company profitability (EBITDA) and support an efficient supply chain in compliance.
You will utilize your stakeholder management and communications skillset as you are expected to drive changes and development together with key stakeholders to ensure that we truly become best-in-class.
The job
LEO has an ambitious 2030 strategy and invests heavily in R&D, while optimizing the commercial product portfolio. This includes acquisitions of assets and divestments of entire brands and their supply chain. Procurement is a key function with regards to these changes and optimizations, as we have a major impact on the supplier network and how we manage the relationship to our suppliers.
For this position there will be an opportunity to support a broad variation of exciting areas within R&D. Here lies an opportunity to make considerably impact as well as plenty of hands-on experiences in terms of managing a range of suppliers, tendering, planning and leading complex contract negotiations - and while doing so, creating a huge value for LEO Pharma.
Moreover, you will:
- Develop and implement global category strategies and sourcing pipeline supporting an efficient supply chain in compliance – primarily within Preclinical Development, Regulatory Affairs and Safety Services
- Manage strategic relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure that best terms and conditions are reflected in active contracts
- Take responsibility for procurement projects and tenders in close collaboration with stakeholders to ensure best possible supply chain, total cost of ownership and contractual outcome for LEO
- Secure governance and mandate by way of strong and clear communication
- Support Line of Business with tasks and projects related to suppliers
- Manage and improve supplier performance
We are currently in an exciting phase at LEO Pharma, where the Global Direct Procurement team is developing to secure the optimal setup to support a LEO Pharma in growth. You will have the opportunity to be exposed to categories of different maturity levels in the R&D area, which means that you will have a high degree of influence on developing categories and improving LEO´s current and future supply chain.
Your qualifications
You have comprehensive experience from a similar Category- or Contract Manager position with experience within procurement. Preferably, in the biotechnology- or pharmaceutical industry, where you have acquired a solid understanding of industry related suppliers, financial drivers and market dynamics – especially experiences within R&D categories are valued.
We appreciate a good sense of humor and expect you work well in a small team and openly share your good ideas as well as listen and learn from others’ experience.
You have excellent skills in communication and Supplier Relationship Management, coupled with strong negotiation skills and solid Change Management capabilities.
In addition you have:
- A Bachelor and/or Master within relevant field of study or other relevant work experience
- Have a strong strategic and analytical mindset, great negotiation skills and the ability to handle complexity
- Preferably 5 years of Category Management experience with documented results within R&D Procurement, sourcing within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry
- Excellent Stakeholder Management skills and the ability to manage a large stakeholder network
