The team and organization
We are looking for a Product Owner (PO) for a very central and newly established DEVOPS & Integration team within our Command & Control (C2) organization in Herlev. The C2 organization is mainly responsible for our C2 Naval system, C-Flex, that provides situational awareness et. al. for surveillance, maritime safety, and combat purposes at sea. The C2 organization counts 90 highly engaged colleagues and is an area of great focus and importance in Terma. Within the C2 organization in Herlev we work in stable, interdisciplinary, and self-managed teams based on the agile principles. Some of our focus areas are the continuous improvement of deliveries within agreed cost, time, and quality, knowledge-sharing, and innovation, where you will be a direct contributor.
Terma’s DEVOPS journey started a few years back, and now we want to take to the next level – here you will have a central role! The DEVOPS & Integration team has a wide range of stakeholders, e.g. C2 development teams, C2 software architects, Project Managers, Terma IT and DEVOPS colleagues in other business areas, just to mention a few.
The team plays an important role in our Continuous Integration strategy and is, among others, responsible for the tool stack infrastructure development and maintenance enabling automatic testing, integration, deployment, and release. The tool stack is used in other business areas as well and coordination to ensure alignment and the best possible reuse and utilization is essential.
The team is furthermore responsible for the automatic deployment of our C-Flex system to our physical reference sites, which, to a high degree, reflect the HW and SW environment on the vessels that C-Flex is deployed to. The team is therefore multi-disciplinary containing HW, SW, and IT skills, among others.
The role and your most important tasks
Working out of our Herlev location, you will be responsible for the deliveries from a dedicated multi-disciplinary team currently counting 6 developers with primary competencies within SW, HW and IT. Your most important role will be to ensure a high-quality backlog with clear priorities aligned with the stakeholders of the team with help from the affiliated Software Architect of the department.

You have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a PO and hold experience with software development. You know the basics of DEVOPS and preferably have experience working within the area from a previous job, either as a PO or developer.

- Facilitation of planning, refinement, review, and retrospective for the team
- Stakeholder management, e.g. Software Architects, DEVOPS satellite developers, Project Managers, and Line Managers
- Ensuring a self-organizing culture in the scrum team that entails commitment to and ownership of the deliveries of the team
- Ensuring that the deliveries of the team meet the goals regarding scope, budget, and time
- Take part in defining the DEVOPS strategy and roadmap in collaboration with Software Architects, C2 Line Managers, Terma IT etc.
Your experience and education
You have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a PO and hold experience with software development. You know the basics of DEVOPS and preferably have experience working within the area from a previous job, either as a PO or developer.
We expect that you:
- Have excellent skills within stakeholder management and coordination
- Are a good communicator both verbally and in writing – also in English
- Have experience with planning and making roadmaps
- Have a natural drive and possess leadership skills to, e.g. drive deliveries effectively to completion
- Have experience in agile development - perhaps you have even been part of an agile change process
Experience with the below is preferred:
- Agile development in a waterfall environment
- Agile Project Management
- Jira, Conflunce
- Ansible, Git, Maven, Jenkins, Java, Artifactory, Docker, Kubernetes, SonarQube
You as a person
- Your profile allows you to navigate in an interdisciplinary environment where solutions and deliverables are a result of an effective interaction between system and software development. You enjoy working in a complex and highly specialized environment. You respect the formal working processes while still mastering agile principles.
- You are a team player, and you take part in breaking down silos to ensure alignment in your environment
- You act proactively and make sure to align up front in case you are in doubt about targets etc.
