The Service Delivery Platform is established to re-engineer and automate the engine room and execution of the services our customers buy and expect us to deliver.
The focus is on making a giant leap in the service levels the customers’ experience and to deliver these consistently so our customers’ learn to trust in our products to an extend that allow them to simplify their supply chains.

You will become part of the COMET platform product team where COMET stands for Container Operations Management Event Tracking. It is the intelligent container information heartbeat of Maersk, following and predicting the life and flow of a container versus plan with more reliability, accuracy and transparency. Being the trusted and adaptable foundation for automation and better decision making in all container operations management functions and integrated platforms, ultimately driving higher quality delivery, service and visibility to our customers.
The scope can be seen as two main parts being around the flow and the life of a container. 1) Flow: Tracking and predicting location and status events versus plan including the stowage element of where on the vessel, including a multi-source event integration. 2) Life: The container registry, registering all containers and relevant info of each container.

Your role in the PPO team will be owning and shaping (part of) the COMET product vision, roadmap and epics, user stories and releases. You will also drive the ‘functional’ architecture angle. This to achieve a simplified, robust and future-proof container backbone for Maersk that drives improved and new business outcomes. As COMET is integrated with many other platform products and processes, this means identifying and driving relevant discussions and bringing thought leadership across platforms on the business, product and engineering level, including enterprise architecture. Also aligning the COMET roadmap to the overall Maersk modernization roadmap.
Other key tasks:
• Involving and keeping informed the relevant key stakeholders
• Being an active platform team member keeping an open mind and challenging and contributing to each other’s thinking.
• Be accountable for establishing and tracking objectives and key results giving evidence of progress in both establishing COMET as preparing and handling the migration from the legacy
The ideal candidate has a combination of a product owner and architecture background and an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset, looking for new ways to solve existing business challenges. Someone who easily sees connections and seeks opportunities and alignment on a holistic perspective across business and technology.
It is a plus if you have experience with preparing and handling large migrations; Understanding and appreciating the complexity of shipping line container operations and events; Knowing the Maersk technology landscape; Having worked with event-based solutions.
Furthermore you:
• can build strong and trusted cross-functional relations with business, technology teams and related platform teams which are quite widespread and crucial to understand, involve and collaborate with.
• You have both technology and business acumen, enjoying understanding the complexity of the processes that are supported by COMET, the business outcomes it drives, and the way the different platform products interact to drive this value.
• Your understanding of technology and developing (service based) software supports a smooth collaboration with the engineering team and architects throughout the organization.
