The Sales Processes team is responsible for designing, developing and deploying "best-in-class" sales processes, that enable easy and intuitive journey for our sales colleagues across Maersk. We strive to satisfy the needs of our valued Customers through effective and seamless processes, backed-up by technological solutions.

In this role, you will lead the design of sales processes for business units acquired by Maersk through M&A activity. These processes paired with variety of technological tools, will enable world class user experience to our colleagues across the Maersk brands. Multiple Functional Product Owners own the ‘end to end’ process landscape at Maersk and ensuring driving standardization, automation, embedded control measures and right measurements.

The successful candidate will play critical role in the team, and partner with other experienced functional product owners on daily basis.

This role offers unique opportunity to deep dive into the sales processes and IT landscape of world class shipping & logistics organization, and the business entities we have acquired through mergers & acquisition activities and drive the design the "best-in-class" process in each process level.

A key part of this position is to play a strong role in the Platform and Tech enabled Transformation at Maersk.

Key Responsibilities

The M&A Functional Product Owner is responsible for functional design of processes within sales processes & the wider Lead to Agreement (LTA) organization, with particular focus on entities Maersk have acquired through M&A activity. You will be responsible to dive into the current landscape of the acquired entity, perform an overview of the current journey followed within the business unit, translate that into L2/L3/L4 processes steps, perform gap analysis to the "as-is" process, and eventually recommend & deliver the "to-be" design for the "best-in-class" process design going forward.

You will also play the role of change agent to deploy your design within the organization. In order to ensure you deliver on this you will need to:

  • Be accountable for process design within the relevant L2/L3/L4 (and where applicable L5) processes which will deliver best value across the acquired entities within Maersk

  • Consider best practices and learnings which could be taken from the acquired entities and implemented in the wider Maersk organization

  • Maintain an up-to-date Process Map for the L3/L4/L5 process along with inputs and outputs and metrics to define success. Ownership towards the master data that gets created or enhanced through the respective L3 processes

  • Along with the team of other M&A Functional Product Owners, being responsible for the overall process design across the business acquired entities, to ensure seamless journey for our sales colleagues globally.

  • Be accountable for standardization and automation of the process steps. Along with your peer L3 Functional owners, responsible in ensuring that as Maersk we achieve the ambitious standardization & automation goals

  • Define the operational metrics that measures the success of the respective process outcomes and tracking performance

  • Work with Platforms, Technology and Business Product departments to ensure the designed processes could be effectively followed and automated, and are delivering the intended user, product, and business features

  • Control Measures are established such that processes are deemed ‘well defined’, ‘repeatable’, ‘consistent’ with no high impact audit findings from internal or external auditors. All audit findings are progressed and closed to completion within timelines

  • Define Business Policy Choices to be made to enable high degree of standardization to the process landscape.


We are looking for someone who

  • Brings 10-15 years working experience from supply chain, transport or other service industry, with some of these years spent working with either process design, technology, sales or M&A.

  • Has former experience working with aligning processes within new business units acquired through M&A activities, are distinct advantage for that role

  • Has the ability to apply "design thinking" methods in designing robust processes that can operate at industrial scale.

  • Has former experience of Six Sigma, Lean and Green/Black belt certifications will be deemed as an advantage but not a minimum requirement to apply.

  • Has former experience working in Agile environment will be deemed as an advantage but not a minimum requirement to apply.

  • Has high level of energy and you happy to work simultaneously on both your assigned scope as well as push the entire team’s scope forward

  • Is a true team player, and enjoy delivering great results as a team, rather than only on your own. We play team sports in the Sales processes team!

  • Is fast learner with ability to simplify complex things

  • Can both be hands-on, with attention to detail, process oriented and carry a mindset of ‘learn it all’ instead of ‘know it all’, and at the same time not losing sight of the larger picture.

  • Can use analytical and logical mindset to solve exceptionally complex problems

  • Is excited by technology and embrace the platform and product thinking, as well as having a track record in change management through communication and working with data-based decision making

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong integrity and collaboration mindset that goes well with people at all levels in a global organization.

  • Is comfortable with multitasking. We work in fast paced and changing environment dealing with a lot of different tasks at the same time.

  • Is highly skilled in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Is fluent in written and spoken English


* The preferred location for the role is Copenhagen, Denmark, however other locations will be considered for the right candidate
