The Nordea Customer Experience & Design team is rapidly growing in Copenhagen.
We are looking for a Senior designer who loves hard problems and to help us transform our digital customer experiences. We work across projects that affect almost all our customers, from retail to business banking, web, mobile, chatbots and soon-to-be voice.
The successful candidate can hit the ground running and collaborate with people from a variety of disciplines, including service design, research, product ownership, engineering, legal, marketing, and customer operations to deliver delightful product experiences that will help users accomplish their goals as easily as possible.

Your future responsibilities
You have the opportunity to use your creative skills and apply them to any one of our hard-digital challenges, e.g., building a personalised banking relationship that is simply beautiful, creating the next generation of chatbots for financial services, or drafting and driving a content strategy across four countries.
This means that on a daily basis, you will work with complex mobile or responsive web design projects from concept to development, working side-by-side with our other Designers and Experience Directors and are a key part of cross-functional, agile delivery teams. We are looking for someone that is curious, continually exploring ways to grow their design skills, empathetic with customer’s needs, and will use these passions to challenge our teams to think critically about what we’re doing and how to improve the customer interactions.
Overall, your focus areas include:
- Crafting the end-to-end designs for complex customer needs in mobile or responsive web platforms
- Influencing and supporting other Designers and the Experience Directors to shape a product or vision using Design Thinking practices
- Working with the Customer Behaviour Insights teams to research, test designs and incorporate customer feedback into solutions
- Partnering with cross-functional delivery teams to define and shape the work needed to implement your designs and customer experiences
- Staying up to date on the latest design tools and techniques, customer needs, behaviour and perceptions, as well as business and industry drivers
- Working across Nordea to build a Design community and culture
Who you are

We are looking for a creative person that is passionate about implementing design at scale, by being empathetic to the customer, our colleagues and our business. This inspirational person should enjoy creating the designs and experience, while helping our teams to creatively solve complex design problems by considering various perspectives, gathering meaningful insights, and then testing and building solutions with both our customers and your creative vision. This means that to be successful, we are looking for a person that has experience driving and shaping the user-centric design vision and process across business, technology and design. We are also looking for a person that is passionate about coaching and mentoring other designers to help them grow within the team and their skillset.
You will be one of the architects responsible for creating a significant impact on our people and customers, so you must also have a creative mind-set, an understanding of what drives our customers, our people and our business, with knowledge of what is technically possible. You will also be working across several teams to collaborate with a diverse set of specialists and working with senior leaders regularly, so your capabilities must also include the ability to facilitate innovation, as well as the ability to both inspire and influence people across various areas and levels of the organisation with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Primary qualifications:
- A degree in human computer interaction, interaction design, service design, graphic design or a similar background
- + 2 years of experience within mobile and responsive web design
- +2 years working in cross-functional, digital delivery teams
- Passion to create a big change that will touch people’s lives
- Fluency in English (knowledge of a Scandinavian language is a plus)
When it comes to specific skills, we believe that you possess:
- A passion for all things design related, with a desire to push the boundaries of design and customer experiences
- Basic understanding of UX and UI design, digital trends and demonstration of design problem-solving methods
- Strong communication skills, including basic presentation skills and the ability to explain your design decisions and influence their implementation
- Ability to create user flows through detailed sitemaps, wireframes, and related documentation
- Skills to rapidly iterate designs and prototypes
- Interest in uncovering customer insights and working in data-driven environments
- Strong work ethic underpinned by a positive attitude and a passion for learning and growing
