THE COMPANY

Muehlhan Wind Service A/S is a subsidiary of Muehlhan AG in Hamburg. The company was established over 130 years ago and has approximately 4.000 employees worldwide. The company is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

The company is financially well-founded and has a steadily growing revenue, as well as a large and ever-growing clientele.

For Muehlhan Wind Service (MWS) we are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager, to ensure development, execution and follow up of the daily quality tasks.

Muehlhan Wind Service A/S is a full-scope contractor and supplier of specialized and ”best-in-class” wind turbine technicians, as well as Installation- and Service solutions. Our expertise lies in the areas of; Mechanical Work, Paint- and Surface treatment, Blade Work, Electrical and High Voltage Work, as well as HSE/QA consulting.

Via Muehlhan Group, they can operate on a global scale, with country specific knowledge and local content.

Job Function:

Responsible for projects and other tasks according to agreement with the Business Unit Manager (BUM)

Authority:

The Project Manager organizes and prioritizes his/ her daily work and the key areas in his / her department according to agreement with the Business Unit Manager.

The Project Manager is authorized to make purchases and investments. Purchases and investments above that must be approved in advance by the immediate Business Unit Manager and in alignment with Matrix of approval.

The Project Manager may purchase necessary goods and materials / equipment’s for the successful progress of the project in alignment with Matrix of approval.

The Project Manager shall purchase goods and services from already approved suppliers. Purchase at/ off none-approved suppliers and services must be pre-approved by the Purchasing Manager.

The Project Manager is authorized to submit and approve tenders up to a limit value. Tenders above must be approved by the immediate superior (Business Unit Manager).

THE POSITION

The purpose of the position is to ensure professional project management and thereby create added value for the company in the form of a reasonable financial return. The result must be achieved, among other things, through collaboration and good project planning as well as a focus on costs and efficiency.

THE TASK

The Project Manager's tasks include several key areas, as indicated below and subsequently described in more detail.

Project Management and organization:

The project management must aim to achieve a structured work distribution and a competitive work organization in a healthy and motivating work environment.

  • Focus on creating a positive atmosphere and a good tone
  • Maintain close contact with employees and customers
  • Create job satisfaction
  • Delegation and follow-up of work tasks (to Technical Assistants, Project assistants, Site Manager etc.)
  • Ensure that the projects provide the calculated return
  • Ongoing project information update to the Business Unit Manager, and other relevant employees, customers and subcontractors.
  • Involvement of site personal in project planning, production optimization, etc.
  • Responsible for all work taking place in accordance with current HSE rules
  • Responsible for ensuring that the quality of the work performed in the projects is as agreed
  • Assists with the preparation of the department's work instructions, procedures, job descriptions and quality plans
  • Ensure that the project/ department is updated and working in accordance with Muehlhan's IMS system.

Cost management:

The overall goal of cost management is to minimize project costs and remain competitive in the market.

  • Assists in negotiating competitive contracts with subcontractors
  • Minimize costs for energy and consumables
  • Minimize inventory / minimize purchasing volumes
  • Place your purchases with approved suppliers in agreement with the purchasing manager
  • Minimize hourly consumption and staff costs
  • Ensure optimal project planning with ongoing cost follow-up

Bidding and projects:

The Project Manager is co-responsible for ensuring that inquiries are answered, tenders are calculated and prepared in accordance with the company's current guidelines.

The Project Manager has the responsibility for the project management and management of the related project costs.

  • Calculation of various extra work during the execution of the job
  • Preparation of project execution which contain all expected project costs and profit budget (expected GM-1)
  • Prepare the basis for invoicing of planned and extra work
  • Handling of complaints in cooperation with quality
  • Ongoing review of debit list
  • Comparison of realized and budgeted costs
  • Post-calculation of the projects in order to gather experience (lessons learned)

Reporting:

The Project Manager is responsible for the reporting in close collaboration with the Site Personal. This must be reported in the current internal IT system for all projects aspects.

  • Ongoing reporting to the administration: Among other things, project creations, procurement requisitions, delivery notes, control forms, approval of procurement invoices, etc.
  • Division report with project status and forecast.
  • Inventory count, list of ongoing projects and costs as well as other activities or initiatives of that have economic significance.

Customer contact:

It is the Project Manager's responsibility to put the customer first and to the best of his/ her ability live up to the customer's expectations.

  • Maintain a close and constructive contact with the customer and address problems and conflicts as early in the process as possible
  • Make sure to keep the customer informed about current schedules, extra work, any delays, organizational changes, etc.
  • Perform various tasks in agreement with the Business Unit Manager

THE CANDIDATE

Qualifications / competencies:

The Project Manager must possess good human qualities, leadership skills and be in possession of a good mood and a great overview. He/ she must also have knowledge from the wind industry and technical insight. The Project Manager should preferably have a theoretical / practical education in a subject related to the wind industry and a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Must be able to write, speak and understand English.
