Job Description

Danfoss Cooling Segment (DCS) is looking for an experienced leader to fill the role as Director for Business Controlling. The position is part of the DCS Business Controlling team as well as the Business Unit, Electronic Controllers & Services management team. You will be based in either Denmark or Germany, and you can expect some travel activities. Your team as well as stakeholders and colleagues are placed on different locations around the globe.

Your role is actively to participate in defining and securing the overall strategy of the business unit with a focus on the finance along with providing financial support and challenging the product- and platform management as well as regional sales activities.

The business is in a strong growth mode and of strategic importance for Danfoss’ future positioning. New business models (e.g. service subscription, performance contracting, license sales), partnerships and M&A will be part of the job scope. Financial planning including forecast, target and perspective will be among your main tasks, as well as controlling and management reporting. Furthermore, your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Securing financial transparency in Electronic Controllers & Services for all stakeholders
  • Supporting the existing electronics platform business as well as the new Software/Solutions/Services business
  • Directing the product cost estimation and pricing strategy for new businesses to enable the strategy for growth in sales and profitability
  • Supporting M&A activities with business modelling, forecasting and partnering models and later investment controlling
  • Leading regular cross functional-business development reviews to ensure that new business acquisitions are consistent with the strategic growth plans and profitability targets
  • Driving functional excellence, e.g. understanding strategic initiatives, translating them into operational activities and projects
  • Driving the financial processes within the business area: analysis of monthly actuals, forecasting & budgeting
  • Business analysis and cost control, e.g. presenting financial performance results, policies and recommendations enabling appropriate business decisions
  • Risk assessment, e.g. identifying and communicating risks and opportunities and making proposals for correction and improvements
  • Driving cost reduction activities, deployment of capital and other resources and business cases to improve the competitiveness and to ensure profitable growth
  • Directing the collaboration of regional and global activities for Controlling, Finance, Accounting, and Tax including process improvements, consistency of practices and data accuracy

As a person you are a team player who is used to work in an international complex matrix environment and who has proven communication experiences to senior management. You are driven by results, well organized and efficient.

You have a global growth mindset together with the ability to guide, influence and convince others with empathy and strong analytical skills. Last but not least, you are a skilled communicator with a high degree of integrity and an ability to translate financial information into an accessible language to colleagues who do not possess your financial insight.

Background and skills
To be considered for this position, you must have a Master’s degree in economics, HD-R, MBA or equivalent education complimented with relevant leadership and functional education, as well as:

  • Extensive experience from a financial position within an international organization with increasing responsibility in financial management including 7+ years of international controlling / finance experience
  • Solid experience from industrial companies with a strong software and service transformation path, alternatively also from automation
  • Experience from service / software / IT solutions / automation company
  • Proven success serving as a strong entrepreneurial business partner to senior management
  • Strategic experience in forecasting and planning cycles
  • Deep understanding of the entire value chain
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Fluent and comprehensive English
