We are strengthening Maersk's software development organisation, focusing on increasing agility in our technology, improving the experience for our customers and striving for the highest quality systems in the industry.
We are looking for a Front End Engineer to join our Design System team in Copenhagen.
This multi-disciplined team has a vision to make complex problems simple and beautiful; to build a unified design system supporting our digital products with proven and defined principles in addition to reusable patterns and components.
This is a fantastic opportunity to use your user focussed, web front end engineering skills to work on a product which will have impact on how our customers interact and connect with our multi-billion dollar business.
Joining Maersk will embark you on a great journey with career development in a global organization. As Front-end Software Engineer, you will gain broad business knowledge of the company’s activities globally, as well as take part in the digitization of the transport and logistics industry.
Incorporating your industry knowledge and experience in web technologies and standards within Maersk. You will be a champion of industry best-practice within the organisation, advocating for technologies that can improve the way we work.
Being part of a passionate agile team, focused on building framework agnostic design system that will be used by multiple digital products developed within Maersk.
You will work and communicate across geographical and cultural borders that will enable you to build a strong professional network. We will provide you with opportunities that broaden your knowledge and strengthen your technical and professional foundation.
You'll be part of an agile delivery team and a global community of engineers within Maersk, collaborating closely with product owners, UX and interaction designers, qual & quant researchers, and more.
You will be hand-on developing reusable, accessible front-end components and taking part in shaping and upholding the technical standards of our design system, developing and maintaining automated test and deployment pipelines.
You will work across digital products and mature the ability to deliver in-line with these standards. You'll develop this in partnership with a lead visual designer, lead interaction designer, technical lead, front-end community and other stakeholders in the organisation.
This is your opportunity to flex a multi-billion dollar business - and measure your impact.
For us, it is all about you, and how we can build the best career with you in mind. Of course, we have an expectation around what you can bring to the role - but don't expect that you bring all of the things mentioned below. In short, we use a more holistic approach to the evaluation of our potential employees- so get in touch to see how you can be part of this journey!
However, we would expect that you have strong experience delivering web front-end technical solutions focusing on web standards, with proven ability to collaborate, influence and deliver.
Also you will use your:
Deep understanding of Javascript, HTML & CSS
Experience developing standard web components in technologies such as lit-element
Strong knowledge of front-end technology trends (past, present & future) whilst maintaining a pragmatic approach to technology strategy and implementation.
Hands-on experience developing accessible user interfaces.
Experience in developing user interfaces with motion design and animation and understand the ramifications for interactivity.
Experience with modern web frameworks (React, Angular & VUE)
Experience in front-end automated testing techniques, CI/CD and version management.
Have an eye for detail and a systematic approach to work that supports the creation of a Design System.
Be a people person that builds strong relationships and recognises and incorporates the perspectives of others.
Deliver in line with the expectations you set, standing or falling as a complete team.
Experienced in a well-functioning agile environment.
Not essential, but desirable to have a Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
Not essential, but to have experience in native mobile application development (iOS/Android)
