EcoTree is looking for a talented Front-end developer & technical support!
Who are we?
EcoTree is a young, vibrant and successful French Greentech startup, aiming to make the world a greener place by planting and developing sustainable forests right here in Europe.
Five years ago, a group of friends from France quit their jobs and created EcoTree. They were truly convinced that making investing in Mother Nature something easy, accessible, and financially viable, was the best way to engage people in environmental-friendly action. Since then, EcoTree has been growing rapidly and now has more than 55,000 individual tree-owners and close to 3,000 business clients, and besides many awards & institutional recognitions, we’ve recently been certified as a B-Corp organization! On ecotree.green, in just a few clicks and starting at 15€, our private or corporate clients can develop their own portfolio of trees, thereby absorbing tons of CO2 in the next many years to come and helping preserving biodiversity, all while making a profit in the end! What’s not to like about that?
In late 2019, EcoTree has started an exciting international journey, with a primary focus on Northen Europe. This is where you come into the picture!
Who are you?
You are a service-oriented person, with a technical mind and a love for beautiful user interfaces and web design.
You have previous experience in front end development. You are familiar with HTML & CSS, including the Bootstrap framework, and ideally also with ReactJS and TypeScript and even PHP. You understand the constraints of mobile-first and responsive design and development.
You understand that it is primordial to offer the best experience possible to customers, either via the website or customer care.
You will be part of a young-spirited, vibrant and growing team and take part in that wholly new and exciting chapter for EcoTree: the international expansion. More specifically, we are looking for someone with:

- min. 2 years of proven experience in front-end development
- Tech stack:
- HTML & CSS, including the Bootstrap framework
- Ideally also with ReactJS and TypeScript and even PHP
- “An eye for detail” and high standards in terms of design, not satisfied until the page looks breathtakingly well
- An ability to follow a Design System and build the components within the website
- A user-orientated UX mindset and desire to make web products that are engaging and easy to use
- An entrepreneurial mindset
What will be your responsibilities?
Your role will be two-fold:
- Firstly, in close liaison with the Head of Design in Copenhagen and the front end development team based in Paris, your role will be to assist in the polishing of the user experience. This includes:
- Making sure the user interface has a properly adapted responsive design
- Following our Design System for the Website/User’s interface
- Creating web animations
- Debugging and adding experience to existing pages, and developing new Web Pages
- Secondly, in collaboration with the customer care and sales departments, your role will be to assist sales in back-office operations using our custom interface and to help troubleshoot order status and delivery on the same custom interface. Some examples are:
- Generating Gift codes
- Reserving trees
- Creating clients
- Securing proper language allocation & fixing bugs related to languages
- Issues on B2B transactional emails
- In general communicating with the IT team in France
- Understanding API’s - Helping the International office with the implementation of these and understanding what is possible
- From time to time - Delivering customer support that has problems integrating the API’s
