The Position In the role of Senior Data Scientist, you will leverage your expertise in causal inference and statistical machine learning to support therapeutic area specific activities and help improving the design and implementation of future trials. Key responsibilities will include working collaboratively across multiple disciplines to spearhead innovation and applying cutting-edge targeted learning techniques. You will collaborate closely with other data scientists, medical specialists, and epidemiologists. It is therefore important that you have the ability to clearly communicate advanced methods and ideas to all our stakeholders and regulatory authorities. As the Lead Data Scientist, you will be responsible for the:
  • Implementation of state-of-the-art targeted learning techniques to support the design of new clinical trials. Creation of new insights on personalized treatments and disease pathways to help our patients getting access to even better treatments

  • Support and guidance of the team on the choice of methods and implementations and help mentor team members.

  • Communication with the stakeholders in other project and medical science teams and align on the expected outcomes and timelines.

  • The Lead Data Scientist AI/ML role, based in Søborg, Capital Region of Denmark, reports directly to the Senior Director of the corresponding research area. This position involves liaising with a diverse array of both internal and external stakeholders and team members across the United States, Denmark, and the United Kingdom. Qualifications The ideal candidate for this role would possess the following qualifications:
  • A strong background in mathematics and statistics, equivalent to a PhD level of knowledge and understanding.

  • A minimum of five years' experience in clinical or theoretical research, with a particular emphasis on causal inference and targeted learning / semi-parametric inference.

  • Experienced in leading research projects and aligning with stakeholders on the expected outcomes and timelines

  • Preferred qualifications for this position include experience in:
  • Collaborating across multiple disciplines to drive innovation

  • Applying estimators based on efficient influence functions, including (augmented) inverse probability weighting estimators or TMLE with stacked generalization and cross-fitting techniques

  • Working with longitudinal data and applying modern mediation analysis techniques

  • Analyzing event history data and working with randomized designs

  • Analyzing clinical data and working in a pharmaceutical company 

  • It will be a strong advantage if you have:
  • Good programming skills in Python / R

  • Experience with agile ways of working, devops, version control, unit testing, and deployment

  • Proficiency in data integration and manipulation
