Job description & areas of responsibility:
Group Product and Operations Finance is an ambitious team responsible for the overall commercial business partnering with our product and merchandising team as well as the finance business partnering with the entire supply chain, including our regional distribution centres and inventory owners across the world.
As Senior Supply Chain Finance Manager, you should have ambitions to be commercially minded while collaborating closely with key stakeholders across the Group. This senior role will be the financial anchor-point for ongoing inventory discussions, improvements and provision evolvement. Fundamentally, you will ensure that the business gets the inventory and risk transparency to be able to take the best possible commercial decisions – both from a revenue optimisation point of view as well as a cost avoidance point of view. You will be a core team member of our Group Product and Operations Finance team as well as in the Group Supply Chain Organisation.
You will be responsible for controlling the Group inventories as well as handling the ongoing associated inventory risks in a structured way through a series of S&OP meetings and improving product lifecycle management. The role is very commercially minded in order to help our businesses across the world to think holistically about our inventories and find the sweet spot between product availability and working capital optimisation. With your strong drive, you will challenge our ways of working to further support our global transformation journey and become a truly global company. You will also be responsible for the reporting on consolidated Group Inventories on a monthly (and ad hoc) basis generating insights through commercial perspectives. In addition, you will:
- Forecast, plan and budget expected inventory performance from a Group perspective
- Build and control business cases to support further development of our inventory efficiency projects
- Help minimise inventories of slow moving items and minimise costs of remelting products
- Advise our colleagues in the markets as well as in Group Supply Chain, including our global leadership team to make critical commercial decisions through appropriate analyses and insights
- Develop a structured approach to inventory reporting
- Be the finance business partner to the supply chain organisation to drive improvements and implement throughout the business
- Oversee the return flow and ensure the Remelt process together with the Shared Service Center in Poland
What is needed to succeed:
We imagine that you have a minimum of five to seven years of experience in supply chain controlling and at least a few years of experience as an inventory controller. Furthermore, you can show a strong toolbox obtained through similar roles in other large retail companies. Also, we hope to see that you have and are able to demonstrate:
- A strong commercial mindset and an ability to clearly communicate the complexity of inventory spread out through 3,000 different SKUs, 7,000 points of sale and multiple distribution centres in an easy to understand language
- Strong financial acumen and the ability to both support and challenge our highly skilled Group Reporting and Accounting colleagues
- Understanding the links between the P&L, balance sheet movements, inventory movements and inventory risk assessment
- You have an analytical mindset and you are an experienced excel and PowerPoint user. It is second nature for you to structure your communication simply and clearly for all levels in the organisation
- Ideally, you have worked with HP, HFM and BI tools before – This is advantageous, but not a hard requirement
- Very familiar with product costing in a worldwide production company: standard cost, landed cost, elimination of internal profit etc.
