The HQ Supply Chain is part of Finance, Risk and Supply Chain Department (FRISC), and provides support to the field operations via help-desk services, training & advice, policy development, compliance control, ERP related training and support, transactional procurement, support the technical assessment during recruitment of Supply Chain staff in the field, and derogation management.
The incumbent will enhance the capabilities of the HQ Supply Chain to build a Centre of Excellence for Supply Chain Management, with emphasis on procurement & other Supply Chain areas and act as the DRC subject matter expert within their field.
About the job
As our current Supply Chain Advisor is leaving us, we are looking for a new colleague to join our team. This job is a senior position in the HQ Supply Chain and will influence the future of Supply Chain in DRC. The job will focus on the following areas:
- Drive, together with Head of Supply Chain, implementation of ERP including building global awareness and adherence to the use of the system. Ensure cross functional cooperation internally to promote supply chain elements of the ERP system, co-lead Business Process Board for Procure to Provide.
- Assist countries in the implementation and utilization of ERP system and be a super user for the Procure to Provide (Supply Chain) process. Oversee adherence to control regimes.
- Represent the Head Supply Chain as appropriate in working groups, collaboration fora and other internal/external engagements.
- Global subject matter expert within Supply Chain management, with an emphasis on inventory management. Act as Business Process Expert, develop and interpret global policies with relation to inventory management. Advise on training content and conduct training as appropriate. Advise Head of Supply Chain on matters within the relevant technical fields.
- Review and analyze current processes within Supply Chain with an aim to streamline, standardize and continuously optimize. Ensure collaboration with other technical fields.
- Continuously keep abreast of best practice regarding Supply Chain management in remote and harsh environments. Work closely with technical counterparts at HQ and field level to establish global standards for the technical specialist area defined for this position. Drive professionalization of staff involved in this area at all levels of the organization.
- Give input and support to other Supply Chain related Governance Framework as requested.
- Act as a liaison for Supply Chain matters for the region assigned, initially East Africa, including review of tenders, approvals and derogations for HQ approval. Day-to-day working contact with countries and region as assigned, giving professional advice on Supply Chain matters. Work with HQ staff in Supply Chain, Programme Support and others as necessary, to find optimal solutions within DRC’s governance framework to support country and regional operations.
- Establish and maintain Purchase Agreements for strategic commodities based on review and analytics of DRC Dynamics data.
- Perform operational procurement as requested.
- Provide support of document review during donor audits, when requested.
About you

Ideally you have hands on experience with change management and have interest in the interface between business and system processes.

Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
- 7+ years of experience within Supply Chain Management, preferably within an organization covering multiple continents.
- 1+ years of field experience is advantageous, good understanding of field conditions and restrictions an asset
- Experience with drafting policies and working procedures an asset
- Experience with Dynamics365 or another cloud-based ERP system an asset
- Experience with remote support to regional and country operations an asset
- Experience with supporting Supply Chain for donor funded projects an asset
- Experience with process optimization/lean an asset
Languages:
- Fluent in English
- Fluency in Danish, French, Arabic or Spanish is an asset
We offer
Contract length: Permanent Contract, subject to 3 months’ probation period.
Work place: DRC Headquarters, Borgergade 10, Copenhagen Denmark
Start date: As soon as possible, at the latest 1 September
Reporting to: Head of Supply Chain
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and AC Organization. This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
Please note that you need to have the right to work in Denmark (through nationality or existing work visa) to be considered for this role.
