The Niels Bohr Institute (NBI) announces the opening of a secretary position at the Section for Astrophysics and Planetary Sciences. We are looking for a highly motivated administrator who thrives in a busy innovative environment and is solution oriented.
About the section
The section is one of 10 research sections at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen. Our research is centered on Galactic astrophysics including the interstellar medium, stellar astrophysics, star and planet formation, and solar system exploration.
The position
In this position, the successful candidate will play an important role in providing administrative support to a driven and very sociable team of scientists. Assignments include assisting the Head of Section with travel arrangements, preparation of expense reports, meeting planning, calendar management, event planning, and guest visits. General support to the scientific staff involves assisting with IT procurement, supporting section budget management, planning and supporting Bachelors, Masters and PhD defenses. In addition, the secretary coordinates the production of monthly newsletters and assists with maintaining websites and social media channels. You will be part of both a local administrative team and the administration at NBI with colleagues in similar positions.
Qualifications
We expect that you have administrative experience and preferably at a university or in an academic environment, if possible with KU systems knowledge. You must be IT system savvy and have the ability to think outside of the box when faced with challenges. You should thrive in a dynamic international environment and adapt well to a fast pace and to ever-changing conditions. It is important that you are a highly organized team player with the ability to work independently as required and have a positive approach to your tasks. You speak and write both English and Danish fluently.

Terms of employment

The employment is made in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Organizations of Public Employees – governmental institutions (the OAO-S collective agreement) and the Professional Agreement for clerical employees, laboratory technicians and IT assistants (HK) in the state.
