We are expanding our area and therefore looking to employ a Senior Director with a passion for leadership and clinical drug development. Join us and you will be working with highly talented colleagues, every one of whom strives passionately to create better treatments and care for our patients.
In Clinical Drug Development we are responsible for managing clinical drug development worldwide from early development phases through large clinical development programmes, product approval and market introduction until discontinuation from the market. We ensure medical and scientific documentation for clinical submissions and maintenance of authorisations according to global standards, regulations, and business ethics.
About the department
In Medical & Science Diabetes, we are responsible for the planning and execution of global clinical trials and for medical and scientific support to health authority interactions within the Diabetes portfolio. We are instrumental in providing documentation and interpretation of clinical data leading to New Drug Applications (NDAs) and variation applications, periodic safety updates on marketed drugs, and drugs in clinical development, market access and external scientific communication.
The department is based in a project-centric organisation, and internally we work in cross-functional teams. Our key external stakeholders are the scientific community and medical experts, regulatory authorities, and market access institutions.
The position
As Senior Director you will be leading and managing a team of approx. 10 (ten) Medical Specialists and guiding them in their daily work. You will manage relationships with internal and external key collaborators and stakeholders, including Novo Nordisk affiliates. It will be your responsibility to ensure the medical deliveries for key development and life cycle management projects.
You will report to the Vice President of Medical and Science, become a member of the area’s leadership team, and collaborate closely with the other leaders in the area. You will take an active part in developing the area as well as a lead role in various improvement projects, including process optimisations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate holds a Medical Doctor (M.D) degree and has documented clinical and scientific merits, e.g. a Ph.D. degree or equivalent within an area related to our research. You have a strong understanding of drug development including being developing ambitious clinical development plans, executing, and reporting on clinical trials and interacting with health authorities. Furthermore, you have experience working in an international environment and with diverse professional groups and can effectively interact with colleagues across functions.
You can set direction, lead, and motivate your team and have a strong wish to invest in personal development of your team members. As a person, you enjoy a setting with a high level of complexity and have solid problem-solving capabilities. You have excellent collaboration and communication skills and are fluent in professional English. You may expect travelling activity of approximately 15-30 days per year.
