Simulation Development is responsible for propelling, defining and ensuring that both short and long-term targets are met for HOW we simulate across our wind turbine platforms and modules. The department is also responsible for the overall simulation strategy and thereby HOW our simulation tools - both proprietary, bespoke and commercial - are working together.

Simulation Development is responsible for propelling, defining and ensuring that both short and long-term targets are met for HOW we simulate across our wind turbine platforms and modules. The department is also responsible for the overall simulation strategy and thereby HOW our simulation tools - both proprietary, bespoke and commercial - are working together.
Responsibilities
- The CFD Specialist will be responsible for methods, tools and processes related to CFD simulations
- The candidate will have the technical responsibility for setting the direction for HOW we perform of Fluid Mechanics & Heat Transfer simulations in relation to product development within Vestas across the organisation
- The coming Specialist ensures that the methods and processes are best in class and continuously tests the boundaries of simulation providers
- Furthermore you will be measured on the ability to develop together with the engineering teams cost-efficient design solutions fulfilling the technical requirements by supporting the design teams with fundamental physical knowledge relevant for the given technical problem
- The candidate must demonstrate innovative skills in a innovative environment together with hands-on engineering attitude and is expected to participate in the development of efficient flow and thermal solutions. The candidate must possess a "team mentality" and be prepared to work as a key member of multifunctional project teams. Specifically, the job requires the following: - Development, maintaining, optimisation and verification of our CFD models to enable accurate design development activities. - Motivate CFD project related task and follow Vestas way to marked project model
Qualifications
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in numerical fluid mechanics and heat transfer or similar
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience
- Effective verbal and written communication with English as the primary working language
- Self-motivated with great interpersonal skills with both internal and external teams
Competencies
- Design and development capabilities and experience with the CFD tools ANSYS CFX, ANSYS Fluent as well as model and simulation tools like COMSOL Multiphysics would be advantage, but if capable in other simulation tools training will be offered
- Relevant work experience with proven technical experience of ANSYS Workbench, DesignModeller, ANSYS Meshing
- Solid experience with EES
- Significant programming skills with MatLab
- Good computer and engineering tools literacy
- Proven skills and competences in design of systems for cooling of electronics as well as thermal systems e.g. design of fans, pumps, heat exchangers, ducting systems, filters etc.
- Innovative, agile and problem solving oriented
