We – Maersk Special Projects (SPL) - are now recruiting for a Sr Business Control manager to lead our financial team in across all departments in Maersk SPL Europe. Being a part of the Maersk SPL Europe leadership team as drives the growth aspirations going forward and reporting to the Head of Maersk SPL Europe.

The position will be located in Aarhus.

Key Responsibilities:

In the Special Projects & Logistics team you will be a part of a team of 70 experienced colleagues, where we strive to deliver the best operational service for our customers.

Your main responsibilities will be leading the financial “Control Tower Setup” covering all our verticals and amongst others:

  • Lead a team of minimum 4 financial operators.

  • Ensure adherence to financial controls and compliance requirements

  • Mitigate financial risk exposure with the departments within SPL

  • Manages delivery of regular reporting to drive business performance.

  • Collaboration with the Regional Finance community.


We are looking for:

Our ideal candidate is a self-driven person that can stay cool in a hectic and complex environment. You strive in a collaborative role being responsible for the financial reporting and the processes around our business reporting & performance.

Our preferred candidate has:

  • At least 5 Years’ experience with freight forwarding industry – with knowledge from the financial aspects of business reporting and control.

  • Leadership experience preferred

  • Excellent communication skills, including both verbal and written in English

  • A collaborative mindset with a “can do” attitude to complexed logistics

  • Eagerness to be best in class and part of a winning team

  • Ability to be flexible when needed as our job is not 8-16

  • Ability to travel approx. 5-10 days a year
