Then you may be our new Associate Category Manager for Metal Components which are key technical design features for Novo Nordisk’s industry-leading device development and manufacturing.

About the department
Strategic Sourcing is the central sourcing unit in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division, and we are responsible for securing that we have suppliers in place that can support Novo Nordisk’s worldwide pharmaceutical production. Through collaboration with our international supplier networks, we ensure availability of the supply needed to develop and produce products that helps millions of people around the world to live with chronical diseases. Devices & Distribution is one of the departments in Strategic Sourcing and we source materials, components and tools for all our pen-injection devices globally whilst also leading the sourcing of distribution and logistics services.

We are dedicated to employee development through coaching, frequent feedback, formal training and by giving challenging responsibilities to individuals and teams.

The position
Your main responsibility will be developing category related market insights in order to identify relevant sourcing opportunities and risks to act upon as well as ensuring that sourcing strategies are in place depicting the strategic direction for how to secure supply to Novo Nordisk both short term and long term. Additionally, you will be sourcing metal components used by our manufacturing and ensure relevant sourcing advice to support Novo Nordisk device innovation and decision making with a time horizon of up to 10 years and strategic collaboration with key suppliers.

Your success will depend on your ability to bridge the needs of the organization and the availabilities of the market, creating the best supply solutions for Novo Nordisk. With this in mind, you will apply a balanced approach to quality, delivery and cost as the beacon that guides you through a complex landscape of business-critical decisions.

The suppliers of the category located both in Europe, USA and Asia, hence you should expect up to 20 days of travel activities per year. This position holds ample opportunities for personal and professional development and will quickly establish you as the go-to person within your area.

The position is a 12 months temporary position.

Qualification

As a minimum, you hold a degree as M.Sc. or equivalent in supply chain, business or engineering. You have minimum 3 years of procurement (direct spend) or sales experience preferably combined with technical knowledge or interest within metal component processing. You have a strategic mind-set and an ability to quickly understand different business models and industry dynamics. You can put strategy into action by braking the bigger picture down into specific supply chain related decisions. Additionally, you have negotiation experience, strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of numbers.

As a person, you are confident when navigating in big organizations. You can impact decision-making through clear recommendations, always founded on solid data and analysis. Since the job requires you to create a broad range of trustful relations across and beyond Novo Nordisk, we expect you to be an outgoing person with a strong personal drive and dedication with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additionally, you thrive in a busy environment and bring a ‘can-do attitude’ and a healthy sense of humor to your work also when the pressure is on. Lastly, you are fluent in both verbal and written English.
