Support and strengthening youth interventions and youth mainstreaming in Oxfam IBIS

Background Information
The Youth Task Team works across all thematic teams in the International Programme Department to coordinate information sharing, initiatives and documentation on youth across the teams and to consolidate learning and ensure strategic fit and quality. We are currently 6 persons in the task team with different key responsibilities and a lot of collaboration and coordination. The intern will be working with all of us at different times during the internship, but specifically with the coordinators of the youth task teams in Denmark and globally.
Being part of this work will give the intern first-hand experience of coordination, documentation and capacity building on youth. Some of the work with the team implies cooperation and communication with Oxfam-colleagues abroad. The intern will get a chance to be part of a dedicated and inspiring global community. In general, the trainee will experience a high degree of autonomy in the planning and organization of her/his work and assigned tasks.
The task
The Oxfam IBIS International Programme Department is seeking an intern for the period of five months during Spring 2020. The tasks will be:
Priority and balance between these tasks cannot be outlined in detail at this point as it will depend on the specific tasks of the unit during the internship as well as the competences and particular interests of the intern.
Support of Intern
Oxfam IBIS will ascertain that all formal requirements with respect to strong professional monitoring of the learning and skills development of the interns are met. To this end, a supervisor will be selected among the team members to accompany, support and guide the intern.

- Write up short conceptual presentation and information papers on Youth
- Participate in developing approaches for youth involvement and youth leadership in collaboration with partners
- Convene innovation and documentation on youth
- Analyse and summarise various strategies and other official documents outlining frameworks, approaches and methodologies
- Coordinate and share on youth within the Oxfam confederation

Qualifications
The right candidate
- Is undertaking a relevant higher education, preferably within development, social sciences or pedagogy
- Has strong analytical skills
- Has skills and experience in documentation and written communication
- Has interest in systematic and methodological approaches
- Has advanced language skills, oral and written, in Danish and English. French or Spanish is an advantage, but not a requirement
- Is able to work independently on her/his own and as part of a team.
