In order to maintain this growth trajectory and propelling it even further, Abacus Medicine Group is in active search of an experienced Learning & Development (L&D) professional, who can lead the establishment of Learning & Development as an independent department within Abacus Medicine Group’s HR organization.
As this is a newly established role, you will have a significant impact on the development and organization of the L&D area. Your expertise in people and stakeholder management will be essential in advocating for the value of L&D across the global organization, empowering employees for success.
Shaping the Future of Learning & Development
As the Head of Learning & Development, the overall goal is to create a value-driven L&D landscape. You will develop, structure, oversee, and lead Abacus Medicine Group’s efforts to enhance the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of its workforce in all markets, and to lead Abacus Medicine Group’s global learning and development initiatives. The role involves designing, implementing, and managing learning and development programs that empower employees at all levels to acquire new skills and enhance their capabilities. By crafting a cohesive learning ecosystem, the Head of Learning & Development plays an essential role in creating a culture of learning, fostering talent retention, and ensuring the organization remains agile and competitive.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Define and execute a forward-looking learning and development plan aligned with Abacus Medicine Group’s overall goals and objectives.
- Collaborate closely with HR Managers and Country Managers to create L&D solutions tailored to the needs and required skill levels of individual markets.
- Create the job architecture which includes the overall career path as well as the succession plans within Abacus Medicine Group Group.
- Develop, design, and oversee learning programs, including e-learning modules, workshops, pre- and onboarding, leadership development, and on-the-job training and a general learning curriculum.
- Establish consistent learning standards and practices across all markets and business units by coordinating with business teams to adapt learning strategies to local needs.
- Revise and enhance the performance management and appraisal system and create talent management tools for managers and leaders across the organization.
- Utilize data and analytics to track the impact of learning initiatives on employee performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.
- As part of the tasks the L&D team will host and execute workshops.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development that boosts employee engagement and job satisfaction.
Experienced Learning & Development Professional with International Experience
The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications and experience:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree related to Learning and Development, such as Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Psychology, or Business Administration.
- A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in the field of Learning & Development.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to inspire and guide individuals and teams.
- Proficiency in adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training evaluation methods. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), e-learning tools, and other relevant technologies.
- Experience in international settings or managing global teams is advantageous.
- Robust strategic thinking and planning abilities, enabling the alignment of L&D initiatives with the organization’s overarching objectives.
