About the department

In Devices & Delivery Solutions, we are about 300 colleagues who design and develop innovative delivery and connectivity devices and digital therapeutic solutions for the Novo Nordisk drug pipeline. Only by considering what is valuable from a patient perspective can we help people live a life with as few limitations as possible. That’s what we call empathy-driven innovation. Delivery and connectivity devices support patients in taking the right dose, in the right way, on the right time. Digital therapeutics enable a much more meaningful dialogue between the patient and health care provider.

All of this leads to improved outcome which in turn means that patients are fully supported in following their treatment regimes. To ensure this development journey our delivery and connectivity systems are developed in close collaboration between patients and the scientific discovery teams across Novo Nordisk.

For our Portfolio & Alliance Management team we are looking for an experienced self-driven person to establish and drive our new function and to play a central role in portfolio-, capacity and alliance management.

The position

As head of Portfolio & Alliance Management you will be driving one of the most central functions in Devices & Delivery Solutions. Your deliverables will form the basis of strategic management decisions that will have significant impact on the choices being made.

Head of Portfolio & Alliance Management will be responsible for:

  • Establishing portfolio management function, leading and setting direction for the team.
  • Drive process of systematic stakeholder involvement to ensure delivery of optimal solutions from Devices & Delivery Solutions in support of Novo Nordisk drug portfolio needs including device, connectivity and digital therapeutics options.
  • Keep track of stakeholder needs and translate into efficient and timely prioritisation and capacity planning within Devices & Delivery Solutions.
  • Delivering data-driven analyses informing and enabling strategic discussions and decisions in the senior leadership team of Devices & Delivery Solutions.
  • Professionalise and optimise processes related to outsourcing and alliance management to cater for an increasing use of external development partners and to support the project managers in effectively managing the partnerships.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, we imagine you are an energetic, self-motivated and solution-oriented person, who can establish a high performing portfolio and alliance management team that continuously supports the organisation’s needs for various analyses, overviews, tracking and planning s in line with strategic priorities.

  • Master’s degree within business, engineering and/or similar.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Portfolio Management, Capacity Planning and Outsourcing Management preferably gained within Pharmaceuticals or Medical Device industries.
  • Minimum 5 years of people management experience.
  • Excellent track record from roles generating and communicating data-driven decision support.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills required to ensure successful involvement internally and externally.
  • Attention to details and a preference for structure, planning and coordination.
  • Fluency in both verbal and written English.
