The Rail Safety Department delivers services within safety approval, risk management, RAMS, interoperability and independent assessment. To succeed in this role, you must have experience with managing day-to-day activities in a department or team and secure revenue generating activities as well as quality deliveries within budgets and team efficiency.

You will join our Rail Division

As our new Department Manager for Rail Safety you will lead 15 dedicated and passionate employees based at our office in Copenhagen, Ørestaden and be part of the management team in our Rail Division.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Provide leadership to employees and manage operations and implement good governance
  • Further develop and grow our Rail Safety business in Denmark and internationally.
  • With strong industry and domain knowledge maintain a client focus and lead strategic selling activities to develop the business
  • Drive development regarding accreditation services. Current assessor accreditation and future NoBo accreditation
  • Set and deliver strategy and annual business plan
  • With a visible leadership you must act as role model and ambassador for the Ramboll fundamentals
  • Represent the business internal and external, with a responsibility to develop and maintain good relations with clients and partners

Furthermore, you have to maintain a strategic business, key client and market-oriented focus when securing the engagement and commitment of those stakeholders identified as being crucial to achieving the department's business goals and/or operational deliverables.

  • MSc or Bachelor’s degree within scientific, technical or engineering field
  • People management experience from similar role or project manager roles
  • Significant experience and domain knowledge preferable in international context
  • Proven ability to manage, in terms of identifying and developing talent, set direction for teams and manage performance
  • Strong English language skills (written and oral), along with strong communication and negotiating skills
  • Strategic thinking and commercial mindset.
