Studiejob, Praktik - København K
iSPACE is hiring a student assistant for the project ”The International Security Politics of Climate Engineering”. The research project is current in train and runs until August 2022. It is financed by the Independent Research Fund Denmark (DFF).
The project examines international and security politics emerging from research into, and potential deployment of, solar geoengineering technology aiming to counteract human-induced global warming. To do so the project is forging an International Science and Technology Studies (ISTS) approach that highlights dynamic interactions between technological innovation and world politics. iSPACE aims to identify a diversity of perspectives on solar geoengineering including non-Northern ones to provide a broader context for ongoing assessment and development of such technologies for climate purposes and the security politics they might engender or come into contact with.
The student assistant will work under supervision of Olaf Corry (University of Copenhagen and Leeds University) and Duncan McLaren (University of Lancaster) assisting research and dissemination activities including literature review search and annotations, drafting communications and text under supervision and assisting organizing research workshops, research interviews, conference presentations and more.
Candidates with a documented experience in climate policy, technology assessment and an interest in environmental security will be preferred. Strong analytical skills and English language proficiency are essential. Flexible working hours sometimes to tight deadlines. The position begins from the 1st of June or as soon as possible thereafter.
Terms and conditions
The salary is set according to the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance, the State Employee’s Cartel and the public service employee’s union (HK).
