The Section for Evolutionary Genomics at the Globe Institute is looking for a dedicated academic coordinator to provide administrative support to researchers in the section.
With its 11 research groups, the section represents a wide range of expertise and applies integrated ‘omics approaches that draw from genomics, transcriptomics, metabarcoding, metagenomics and proteomics. The aim is to provide new solutions to classic questions concerning both ecology and evolution but also to applied topics such as biomedicine, food production and agriculture.
The section is led by Tom Gilbert and has 130 employees, guests and students. The work environment is highly international, and English is the main language. In your role as academic coordinator, you will be part of a small section administration and work closely with other administrative staff at the institute and faculty level.
The position is permanent, with 15 August 2020 as starting date.
Tasks and responsibilities
Your primary job will be to support Professor Matthew Collins and his research group in all administrative aspects. Main tasks are:
Furthermore, you will be responsible for facilitating recruitment requests in the section overall. This will involve regular contact with SUND HR at the Faculty.
In addition, you are expected to support various operational aspects of the research activities in the section, and in particular assist research group leaders Hannes Schroder and Thomas Ponten and their group members.

Terms of salary and employment
The employment and salary are made in accordance with the Circular on the Collective Agreement concerning Academics in the state sector concluded between the Ministry of Finance and Akademikerne (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
Employment will be as academic officer (fuldmægtig) The salary is based on seniority and currently between DKK 26,223.92 and DKK 31,954.42 per month + availability supplement (based on seniority) + pension. Negotiation for salary supplement is possible. The working time is 37 hours per week on average. The working hours are flexible.

- HR coordination
- Assisting with financial management of grants, budget controlling and invoice processing.
- Arranging meetings and booking flights and accommodation for visiting researchers.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for facilitating recruitment requests in the section overall. This will involve regular contact with SUND HR at the Faculty.
In addition, you are expected to support various operational aspects of the research activities in the section, and in particular assist research group leaders Hannes Schroder and Thomas Ponten and their group members.

Qualifications
- minimum a master’s degree, preferably a MSc degree
- Preferably work experiences within a University and Research environment.
- Knowledge about HR and legislation.
- Understanding of accounting and project budgeting.
- Can work independently as well as in teams
- Service-minded, responsible and structured
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English as well as Danish.
