Your new role
As VP - Global Lean Champion you will be positioned in the organization’s Group functional team. From here your job will be focusing on Environment, Health, Safety, Quality Assurance and Lean. The main purpose of the position is to work with the local management of Norican’s manufacturing centres, and to lead the “Continuous Improvement” culture through Lean.
You will be involved in numerous tasks, including planning, developing, and implementing strategy for Norican Group EHS, QA and Lean functions, so as to meet group plans & standards within agreed budgets and timescales. To do that you will be responsible for:
• Developing, implementing, and administering health, safety, and environmental programs
• Facilitating continuous improvement through applying Norican Lean principles
• Leading and coordinating Lean initiatives, working through local Lean Champions & global follow up
• Tracking and reporting progress on major improvement initiatives ensuring alignment to business needs
• Driving measurable improvements in productivity, Supply Chain process and product flow
• Developing strong working relationships with local & regional leadership to sustain a continuous improvement culture
• Ensuring that all Norican units are in compliance with regulatory and corporate EHS policies
• Tracking & follow up on incident & near miss reporting, including learnings & preventive measures
• Establish the quality strategy, policies, goals and metrics for the Group, in close cooperation with Supply Chain leadership
• Ensuring that the local site teams adhere to the principles, guidelines and best practices of the QA strategy as defined
• Being the Group champion of Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement and industry recognized Best Practices
Your primary focus will be driving the Norican Lean program by developing existing site programs and managing roll out into new sites.
This is truly an international position with exiting challenges and a lot of interaction with relevant local stakeholders.
The position is based at an EU based Norican facility (Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, France, UK or Denmark) and travel activity is expected to be 60-70 days annually depending on the demand from stakeholders.
What you’ll need to succeed
The position requires a bachelor in Engineering or other relevant degree. You can document a Lean certification combined with extensive Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving experience. The ideal candidate brings knowledge from industry best practice and ideally comes from a similar position focusing on implementation of LEAN. You can further demonstrate excessive experience with change management, from an international organisation having experience working in a global environment exposed to different cultures. Moreover, we are looking for a person with strong communication and interpersonal skills with operational and leadership authority.
