Novo Nordisk is expanding into new therapeutic areas with exciting opportunities. As you follow market trends and developments closely, this is not news to you. Because of your background in pharmaceutical marketing and product research and the impressive results you have created so far, you are probably the experienced business professional we are looking for. You have been looking for the opportunity to contribute to the next chapter in the Novo Nordisk success story, and as our new Global Portfolio Associate Director, you are ready to make your impact by shaping the commercial profiles of early stage assets and develop the portfolio analyses that will inspire and inform senior managerial decisions.

About the department
New Product Planning is a part of Commercial Planning within Commercial Business Development (CBD). Through our work with drug discovery and development projects in R&D, we set the commercial direction of future drugs. In New Product Planning, you will be joining 11 experienced business professionals like yourself. Together, we are proud to be guiding the commercial success of the long-term future for Novo Nordisk.

We are dedicated to delivering top-quality quantitative and qualitative commercial assessments on which to found critical portfolio decisions. We have the track record to be confident in pursuing ambitious goals and we maintain a creative and collaborative team culture, where you can count on never being on your own.

The position
Your key tasks will be to work within the project team of a drug candidate to develop the target product profile, collecting primary and secondary data on market conditions and shape the data into actionable recommendations. You will be coordinating the commercial input for the Product Development Plan, you will be creating financial valuations of assets as they prepare to enter Phase 2 and you will work with the team to deliver the annual value assessment of the development portfolio. To top this off, you will be working on a variety of ad hoc commercial assessments that provide senior management with insights on long-term trends in our key markets. In short, this is a great opportunity to make your impact on a truly global scale.

On a daily basis, you will work with a diverse network of internal colleagues from Research & Development, Commercial Strategy, Patient Access, Strategic Finance and Product Supply. You will work in a global context, but interact primarily with headquarters functions. You will report to the Vice President of New Product Planning.

Please expect less than 20 travel days per year.

Qualifications
If you are our ideal candidate, you have a master’s degree in business or economics, and more than 10 years of experience in commercial functions in the pharmaceutical industry. If you have worked with commercialisation of curative therapies within neurology or stem cell treatments, it will be an advantage. You are considered a true marketeer by your peers, brand team experience is highly valued and a financial background is considered helpful, but not necessary. It is critical you possess strong financial and analytical skills plus a proven ability to translate analysis into insights and recommendations.

On the personal side, we expect you to have excellent interpersonal skills, as this position requires you to work with many stakeholders across the company. Additionally, you not only have a track record of identifying new ways of achieving goals and people will tell us that you inspire your surroundings to create new paths in the landscape with you by inspiring them to think outside their area of expertise. It is important that you demonstrate the ability to work individually and as part of a team on multiple projects - often with conflicting deadlines. Strong general communication skills and an excellent command of both written and spoken English are definite prerequisites for the position.
