About the department
The Legal Business Development & Trademarks team is an ambitious, dynamic and international team comprised of 7 professionals, which provides legal support to Novo Nordisk’s global Business Development teams, Global Research and Digital Health, including M&A, IP licensing transactions and other global strategic collaborations. We are located in Novo Nordisk’s headquarters in Bagsværd, Denmark, as part of Global Legal & Patents. Novo Nordisk’s Global Legal organization has more than 250 global legal colleagues situated at +40 locations around the world.
The position
As our new Senior Corporate Counsel, you will provide strategic legal advice and support to the global Business Development areas. Your work will focus on drafting, negotiating various types of agreements such as share and assets acquisitions, research and development collaborations, and various R&D IP licensing matters.
You will engage with a diverse range of stakeholders within the business and across global legal. This role works closely with the global Business Development teams and Global Research business leadership, headquarter staff as well as other global counsel on various strategic projects. You will be expected to develop solutions to new and challenging issues in a changing environment.
As part of the Global Legal organisation, you would also be involved with cross-functional global legal projects and will have opportunities, both in Denmark and abroad, for further professional development.
This position reports to the Vice President – Legal Business Development and Trademarks.
Qualifications
You have a Law degree and admission in your home jurisdiction as well as 7+ years of experience from a major law firm or in-house legal department. You have previously negotiated agreements for M&A transactions and other complex transactions and thus have strong negotiation and drafting skills. Experience with intellectual property issues is a plus, together with knowledge of the life science industry.
We are looking for someone who has personal drive, “can-do” approach and results-oriented attitude, which enables you to establish strong professional relations internally and externally. You have an international mind-set and enjoy being part of a global work environment. You have the ability to work under pressure, manage numerous and changing priorities effectively, meet deadlines and work independently as well as in a team environment. Solid attention to detail combined with the capacity to multi-task and meet deadlines are needed. Furthermore, we expect that you have excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels within the organisation. Danish language skills are not required.
