Fleet Management and Technology is responsible for ship management of all Maersk owned container vessels. The operation is primarily conducted out of Copenhagen, Singapore, and Mumbai.

We are looking for a Finance Business Partner based in Copenhagen to join our global Business Finance team, supporting the Marine Standards and Fleet Operations functions.

In this role, your mission is to drive strong performance management, providing analysis of financial and operational performance and shaping business decisions in the Marine Standards and Fleet Operations teams. Your main responsibilities will include management reporting, forecasting, budgeting as well as financial and operational performance management.

Key Responsibilities

The Finance Business Partner will own all financial data and deliver accurate and timely information for financial as well as operational KPI reporting, establishing a strong link between insights from financial performance and recommended operational actions.

Key tasks:

  • Act as a strong link between the Marine Standards and Fleet Operations teams, overseeing the financial planning and implementation of safety and compliance initiatives across all managed vessels.
  • Support business decisions by leaders through data-driven insights into both financial and operational performance, with recommended actions.
  • Be a sparring partner who challenges assumptions, providing forward looking, independently initiated analysis which highlights risks and opportunities.
  • Perform financial analysis for operational scenarios to facilitate decision making.
  • Coordinate rolling forecast process for Marine Standards, ensuring that both short and long-term strategic priorities are accommodated.
  • Prepare periodic management reporting, including variance analysis, explanations, and related proposed actions.
  • Support month and year-end closing processes, including monthly performance review meetings.
  • Drive process efficiencies and automation through BI tools.
  • Provide visibility to management on progression against strategic initiatives.
  • Identify process improvements through data analysis and feedback from stakeholders.
  • Deliver insights and recommendations relating to fleet performance vs. internal benchmarks.
  • Manage and ensure all necessary processes and controls are in place to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain close and strong relationship with all stakeholders.

Who we are looking for:

The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree in Finance or Economics, combined with 3+ years of relevant work experience in finance positions.

You:

  • Are a passionate, self-starting and goal-oriented finance professional.
  • Communicate clearly and engage confidently with leaders at all levels.
  • Possess excellent analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Are well organised and able to prioritise effectively.
  • Are strong in the details but comfortable in explaining key messages in simple terms.
  • Have a flair for building relationships and can exert influence without authority.
  • Possess a strong natural drive for results and excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Have expertise in the use of Excel & PowerPoint. Proficiency in the use of Power BI is an advantage.
  • Are fluent in written and spoken English.
