Opportunity
As a Senior Analysts in the Cost Innovation team, your role is to constantly look for how we can improve and optimize our Ocean Business from a cost perspective (USD 19bn).
Looking at cost across the ocean business, testing and validating hypothesis from the business on how to transform and make our Ocean Business more efficient, reducing unit cost, improving decision making, increasing recovery with customers and in general coming up with new ideas and bringing in inspiration from the outside to question the status quo of the business.
This is done both by building a pipeline of ideas/input from within the business and from outside, that are then tested and validated together with the business in close alignment with several senior executives with the ultimate purpose of implementing the best outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Seek input from across the business and from the external market
- Challenge the status quo on cost in our Ocean business, build a pipeline for future ideas and test all ideas collected from inside and outside.
- Come up with recommendation on how to make our business more efficient
- Secure that suggested operational improvements support positive development in customer experience/NPS (CX)
- Prepare business cases for identified projects and secure alignment with relevant stakeholders before seeking final approval
- Potentials for future projects are documented via internal and external benchmark
- Design implementation plans for identified projects and align with relevant stakeholders
- Work closely with the business on the projects in the pipeline
- Make sure the right outcomes are implemented, by establishing clear accountability with the right business owners
- Support implementation and secure that the business effects are measurable.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate is educated with a Master in Economics or Finance or HD from an accredited university or business school combined with experience from a similar position combined with experience from consultancy, Business Finance or similar.
Furthermore you:
- Good Project Management skills (implemented larger projects across multiple functions)
- Understanding of cost drivers in shipping including interlink between Product and Operations is preferred
- The ability to analyse operational and financial data – and prepare benchmark for identify best way of operating/best way of working
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent at getting buy-in from stakeholders and get people to rally around the right opportunities
- Able to create results through people
- Openminded and collaborative in nature
- A team player with cultural intelligence to work across the company
- Result and deadline-oriented and have the courage to challenge the current set up
- Drives with purpose and focus the standards at Maersk, listening to inputs while not deviating from achieving high quality outputs
- Thrive with ambiguity.
