Process Development Chemist
Are you motivated by joining an area with high growth and be part of an ambitious venture of CMC Chemical Development? Do you want to be a key player in the drug development process ensuring future submissions by utilising your skills in organic chemistry? Take the next step in your life-changing career and join the Late Stage Chemical Development Team.
We can offer you a position in a stimulating working environment in the technological forefront of organic chemistry. If you are passionate about developing robust, technically feasible industrial and economical processes with little environmental impact and building solid control strategies to assure patient safety, apply already today!
The position
In this role, you will be invovled in designing, optimizing, and validating chemical processes taking place externally at our Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisations (CDMO’s) for the production of APIs, intermediates and building blocks. You will also collaborate closely with internal Novo Nordisk cross-functional teams, including analytical chemists, drug product, quality assurance and regulatory affairs, to develop robust and scalable manufacturing processes. The open position is in late-stage chemical development where the primary focus is delivering material to clinical trials (mostly phase 3) by means of our worldwide CDMO’s, building a solid control strategy and follow the projects through process validation and transfer to commercial production.
Your prime objective will be to:
• Ensure a seamless flow of technical and scientific knowledge between Novo Nordisk and our external partners, whose laboratory, pilot plant, and production activities you will be supporting.
• This includes being deeply involved in the details of process development, reviewing documentation, and troubleshooting on manufacturing issues.
• You will, together with a team of internal colleagues, cover versatile professional disciplines, ensure project progression according to plans and delivery of products.
• The position does not include hands on laboratory work, since this part is taking place at the external partners.
• You will on the other hand be expected to actively participate in interpretation of data generated in the lab and setting the direction for process development.
Here you will develop your scientific expertise, securing task and knowledge sharing in close collaboration with highly talented and motivated colleagues. You will become part of a team with an informal working environment with focus on well-being and flexibility in workplace and hours.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate:
• Holds a MSc or PhD in organic chemistry or a related field
• Your academic degree is supplemented with industrial experience in either process or analytical development
• Previous experience in cGMP-regulated chemical manufacturing areas would be highly advantageous
• You understand CDMOs
• You have been writing and reviewing regulatory and quality documentation
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
• You are fluent in written and spoken English
Your tasks will require that you both submerge in scientific details and maintain and communicate overview of the project to your stakeholders – so it is important that you thrive in both settings. As a person, you possess a solution-oriented mindset and have a strong practical capability to translate theory into practical solutions for technical challenges. Your positive attitude enables you to work efficiently, whether as a team player or independently, even when dealing with complex tasks, to ensure timely progress.
