Competency Development Specialist to develop and strengthen our project leadership mind-set and community
In Novo Nordisk’s Development organisation, we have more than 25 project leaders responsible for driving product development and the Global Project Teams (GPTs). We want them to be the best in industry, securing the future success of Novo Nordisk by developing our portfolio of innovative products treating millions of patients worldwide across several therapy areas. The project leaders are a growing group of Project Directors (PDs) and Project Vice Presidents (PVPs) and the majority are anchored in the Clinical Drug Development (CDD) area. Their ability to lead the projects, develop the products with a business mindset, and applying deep value chain understanding and inspire a holistic perspective of the patient needs are essential for the future portfolio of Novo Nordisk.
We are looking for an experienced project manager to develop and execute on a curriculum for our project leaders.
The Job
You will be developing and executing a curriculum for project leaders. This includes creating a holistic plan for how to address the development needs for the different experience levels and cater for multiple areas within the pharmaceutical value chain. The curriculum will build on the participants’ capabilities within leadership, communication, and project management. It will include peer-to-peer learning, community building and insight on the deeper value chain, e.g. within product supply and finance.
You will be working closely with the project leadership (PDs and PVPs) and multiple high-level stakeholders, such as the CDD leadership team, the Development Portfolio & Project Management team, and People & Organisation. Externally you will work with vendors hosting or developing content or providing training for the group.
To be successful in this role, you will build on your insights into managing and building a training curriculum for top level project leaders in the pharmaceutical industry.
Qualifications
We are looking for a colleague with strong project management experience and insights into the requirements of a project leader in the pharmaceutical industry either through own experience or having supported from a different role. You have a relevant master’s degree and experience working with vendors such as top-level business schools and consultancies providing training for executives and project leaders.
We expect you to work independently, follow through and be able to manage senior stakeholders in steering group settings as this will be an integral part of your role. You are motivated by seeing people develop and becoming more successful in their roles.
You will be supported by your manager, the HR Business Partner and the portfolio team as well as the People & Organisation Centre of Expertise for Talent & Succession.
About the department
You will be working in the Clinical Drug Development Executive Office (CDDEO) anchored in the Development organisation located in Søborg. We are responsible for driving activities that support the management of the CDD area with over 900 employees who are planning, executing, and concluding our global clinical trial activities and leading our product portfolio development.
In the executive office, we support the Senior Vice President to lead the organisation. We drive strategic business processes, lead sustainability initiatives, execute communication activities, manage budgets, organise major department events and support the community of project leaders in CDD. We work in close collaboration with senior leaders and with executive teams across the company globally.
