Do you have experience with rare endocrinology, and would you like to turn that into discovery of new pioneering drug candidates? Then you may be the new colleague that we would like to welcome to the newly established department of Rare Endocrine Diseases.
About the department
Global Biopharm Rare Disease Research is an expanding new area of skilled scientists and technicians investigating the function of novel drug candidates to improve the treatment of individuals living with rare blood diseases or rare endocrine diseases. We are deeply involved in the discovery of innovative drug candidates through in vitro and in vivo research. An important part of our job is to engage widely in external partnerships with experts and/or platforms to be able to have a broad disease span.
The Position
We offer you an inspiring job opportunity where you will be part of a cross-functional team in which scientific goals require contributions from many highly specialised colleagues in the drug discovery within rare endocrine diseases. Your main responsibility will be hands-on laboratory work with in vitro/ex vivo assays and understanding of in vivo models. Collaboration with the gene editing/gene therapy team and the research technology area will be an essential part of your job. Generation of new ideas for drug targets, promotion of project proposals as well as providing data input to patent applications and/or publications are expected contributions as specialist in this area.
Qualification
The ideal candidate has a Ph.D. in cell biology, biochemistry, human biology or a related field with experience in endocrinology and state-of-the-art laboratory methods plus 3-5 years of postdoctoral academic/industry work experience. Knowledge of building partnerships and understanding of gene therapy/gene editing is considered an advantage.
To be successful in this position, you must have an entrepreneurial mindset, superior problem-solving skills and the ability to understand complex biological systems. You must be a team player and a self-starter and be strongly motivated to explore new ideas and methods in order to drive innovation for the benefit of our patients.
