Development of analytical separation methods for oral formulation research

About the department

The department Analysis & Separation consists of 10 dedicated and enthusiastic colleagues. Our shared ambition is to develop analytical separation methods for characterisation of injectable and oral formulations of new peptides and proteins.

The methods we develop are subsequently used within various areas of the R&D organisation. We work with state-of-the art instrumentation and use a wide range of analytical separation and detection techniques (RPC, IEC, SEC, HILIC, HIC, Affinity-LC, 2D-LC, iCIEF, CZE, CE-SDS, MALS, RI, FLD, MS). We collaborate closely with both industry and academic partners as well as several areas within Novo Nordisk.

The position

As an analytical associate scientist at Analysis & Separation you will be working with the development of analytical separation methods for research related to oral peptide and protein formulations in the early research pipeline. The methods will be content and purity methods for assessment of drug product stability as well as in vitro dissolution testing. The job will offer a high level of independence and flexibility within the research project framework, and you will also work with scientists and technicians from other departments. The position is a temporary 2-year contract.

Qualifications

We are looking for a person with a MSc degree in a relevant discipline e.g. analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology etc. You should have hands-on experience from working with analytical separation techniques primarily HPLC/UHPLC.

It is an advantage if you also have experience from systematic method development involving valve solutions for screening, retention modelling, factorial designs, etc. Experience with analysis of oral (solid) dosage forms is also an advantage.

You have a flexible mind-set and find it motivating to work in a dynamic environment. You are a team player with a constructive attitude who takes pride in understanding and challenging science. You value knowledge sharing with other scientists and with our experienced laboratory technicians. You possess good networking and communication skills. You have problem solving skills and you are creative in finding solutions to scientific challenges encountered during your research. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is a prerequisite.
