Global Supply Chain is within the CSO organisation with dotted line report into the COO function. The SVP of Global Supply Chain (GSC) is sitting in both management teams. GSC is a global organisation with more than 200 employees based in different locations all around the world (we have some central functions and a regional set up adjusted to the Vestas Sales Business Units (SBU’s) set-up). We manage 100,000’s of shipments across our worldwide factories in our global supply chain every year.

This includes having best in class global operations through value chain cost out, reliably deliver anywhere in the world by adapting to market changes in an agile approach through competitive footprint and having one set of S&OP numbers and a continuously optimised portfolio plan.

Our mission is to become a truly integrated global supply chain function enabling us to reach the lowest possible Levelised Cost of Energy (LCoE) by ensuring a proactive and simplified approach. It is our key objectives are to have accurate short- and long-term objectives, a competitive global footprint, winning the auctions with the lowest possible total landed costs (TLC) and ensuring continuous value chain optimisation and cost out.

The Senior Director in Supply Chain Planning (SCP) Operations will lead the Supply Chain Planning Operations department responsible to ensure cross functional alignment within SCP, inventory and lead time optimisation for both Production Business Units and Sales Business Units, capacity assurance, process improvements as well as risk management including potential P&L impact.

You will report to the VP of Supply Chain Planning and be part of his newly established management team. Together you will strengthen alignment across functions and ultimately ensure required project on-time delivery with the best TLC.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory optimisation across our Sales- and Production Business Units (SBU/PBU) including both upstream supply chain optimisation for raw materials and work in progress, to present scenarios and relevant trade-off relating to cash, cost, timing, capacity etc. to relevant senior stakeholders
  • Proactively manage potential P&L impact through the pre/post calculations and warehouse changes such as root cause analysis, mitigating actions, defining pre-calculation updates, structure for warehouse changes such as the reasoning i.e. production issues, portfolio optimisation etc.
  • Define and implement a clear governance structure supporting how we manage pre/post calculations and warehouse changes
  • Lead time optimisation across the supply chain to improve the cash and inventory position based on clear and tangible business impact
  • Overall responsible for process improvements across Supply Chain Planning
  • Define and implement an efficient approach and format for management reporting and business case approvals for Supply Chain Planning

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master degree in engineering, supply chain, logistics or business administration. Master degree preferred
  • 8-10 years of experience in a global company
  • Solid background in supply chain administration, understanding of and interest in finances/economics related to a global supply chain

Competencies

  • Strong stakeholder- and project management skill are a must. Ability to manage multiple remote stakeholders
  • Demonstrated personal commitment and focus on the correct data as well as the ability to focus on details without losing the overall perspective
  • Ability to understand and analyse complex supply chain related issues including the financial impacts
  • Goal-oriented with a strong drive; demonstrated enthusiasm for taking on responsibility and achieving results independently and as part of a team
  • Global mindset and understanding of different cultures
  • Excellent communication skills being able to communicate at all levels in the organisation
