What do we offer?
Do you have experience with negotiating global contracts with indirect suppliers? Here is your chance to gain an international network and be our lead negotiator in a global organization. You get to work across cultures and companies to influence our future sourcing strategy and take responsibility for the portfolio of indirect suppliers related to the area IT/Telecom. This covers areas such as Audio Visual equipment, cell phones, IS infrastructure, IT accessories, IT consultancies, SW, IS devices, network etc.
You will join the team Global Indirect Purchase, where we are currently 9 colleagues responsible for sourcing of indirect products and services. We are part of the Group Purchasing function with colleagues at various locations worldwide. In this position you will be based in Bjerringbro, Denmark, where the majority of the indirect purchasing team is located. In the Global Indirect Purchase you will join an ambitious team, where your effort and ability to create results makes a difference and has a direct business impact. You report directly to Purchase Manager, Indirect Purchase, Ninna Normand Helles.

What is the job about?
As Indirect Category Manager you are responsible for managing the sourcing process towards suppliers related to the organizational area of IT/Telecom. You do so by optimizing the commercial terms and conditions with the suppliers as well as optimizing the portfolio of suppliers doing business with Grundfos within this area. This includes being responsible for defining sourcing strategies for the business area and ensuring strategic development.
As Category Manager for IT/Telecom you need to work closely with the Group IS organization, which consists of colleagues located in various geographical locations, as well as with local indirect purchasers at different Grundfos locations. It is your responsibility to ensure an optimal supplier portfolio for Grundfos, that suppliers are consolidated in a meaningful way across regions and that opportunities to reduce cost for Grundfos are identified and carried out where feasible.
Moreover, you identify main cost drivers and conduct relevant benchmarks as well as you analyze spend to identify savings potential and to consider and compare total cost scenarios.
To succeed in this position requires close co-operation with internal stakeholders, and it is important that you understand the needs and requirements of the organization, while you also have the courage, knowledge and foundation to challenge the stakeholders in terms of habits and existing solutions. This to continuously increase the overall benefits for Grundfos.
Your primary supplier portfolio will consist of suppliers providing various IT Telecom related services and offerings to Grundfos, and you will act as a business partner for the global IS organization. Dependent on the workload, you may also take responsibility for indirect projects and negotiations within other areas of our business.
“It is important that you continuously follow the trends and market development within your area of responsibility to be able to consider relevant benchmarks, market trends and cost drivers. Also, you need to be able to challenge both internal stakeholders and suppliers and be ambitious when you negotiate,” Ninna explains.
What do you need to apply?
Most probably, you hold a relevant commercial master's or bachelor's degree combined with 3-5 years of experience as lead negotiator of indirect sourcing. You are a skilled and confident negotiator with experience from an international organization and have experience with managing in international supplier portfolio. You have experience – perhaps you are even an expert – in using e-sourcing tools and understand how to balance the use of these with other means of communication.
You aim at creating results and do not settle with nothing but the best solution. It is important that you have experience in creating strategies in a certain sourcing area and that you are strong in building and developing relations with stakeholders as well as you dare to challenge previous beliefs and traditions, if it can lead to new and unexplored opportunities beneficial to Grundfos. You speak and write English at professional level.
“Your experience enables you to work independently as well as think analytically, and it gives you the confidence to negotiate at a strategic level while being diplomatic and constructive, yet firm. You are used to collaborating across functional and organizational levels and you are able to prioritize during a busy day. Finally, you easily develop and maintain trustworthy relationships and you remain structured with a focus on getting things done,” Ninna finishes.
