The position This is a great opportunity to lead, develop and drive Diabetes What’s Next, which is the Novo Nordisk global external digital patient facing communication platform for diabetes. This position offers the right candidate a unique opportunity to drive change for people living with diabetes. The objective of Diabetes What’s Next is to offer fact-checked information, advice and peer support to enable people living with diabetes and their care givers to continue to live life with diabetes the way they want. The platform is an ecosystem with website and SoMe platforms that are open source of information for all patients and general public. Your primary responsibility will be to develop strategy and implement activities for the Diabetes What’s Next ecosystem, with website content and social media activities. In collaboration with your colleagues in the communication team and the global brand teams you will:
  • Develop strategy for the future development of the Diabetes What’s Next ecosystem
  • Lead the creative development and co-creation of website content and social media activities to support the diabetes business strategy for patient engagement
  • Drive further implementation of platform and activities across affiliates worldwide
  • Align strategic communication with key stakeholders across the organisation
  • Qualifications We expect you to have a degree in communication, journalism, or another relevant field. You also hold at least 6-8 years of experience with strategy and activity planning for digital communication from working either on agency side or in a company with direct-to-consumer communication. The pharmaceutical industry is highly regulated, so any experience manoeuvring in such an environment will be an advantage. You have a good business understanding and can translate this into a supportive communication strategy. To thrive and succeed, it is crucial to have:
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to drive complex decision-making in a matrix organisation
  • Strategic mindset with an ability to turn strategy into creative execution
  • Proven track record of running successful social media campaigns that align with business strategy
  • Proven track record of working with large global communication agencies

About the department The Diabetes Global Commercial Communication team is responsible for developing and executing strategic communication and media activities across the Novo Nordisk diabetes therapy area. The team sets global strategic direction for communication activities to support the brand strategies through a co-creation approach with both global, regional and affiliate stakeholders.

    The job is located in Denmark, within Novo Nordisk’s Commercial Strategy & Corporate Affairs Organisation as part of Diabetes Therapy Area Unit. You will report to the Head of Global Commercial Diabetes Communication, but day-to-day work in close collaboration with colleagues across the organisation. You will benefit from being on a team of professional communicators, but at the same time you will be joining a team of energetic and driven marketing and strategy professionals engaged in leading innovative commercial strategies across the global organisation.
